TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 While downloading classic DX stuff, i came across the Raw where HHH got a woman in the crowd to reveal herself, thing was, X-Pac was in the ring with him, and HBK was at ringside - Did HBK and XPac ever appear in DX together? (on second look, the outlaws and chyna were also present)
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Michaels played the commissioner's role on WWF television for a good chunk of time. Between the many face/heel turns he made while playing the role, there was a good chance that he was re-united with the Degeneration-X stable at a few RAW shows. IIRC, in late December 1998, he turned face again for some reason or another. Around that time, the writers had him "permanently removed" from the role, with the infamous "winter assault" angle where Michaels was thrown through the car window (seemingly perpetuated from the Corporation stable, but it was never revealed.) EDIT: Did some research on that particular face turn. It was the last segment of the 12.28.1998 RAW, where Vince and HBK were alone in the ring. Vince threatened to relieve him of his commisionary duties, so HBK in turn superkicks him and turns face.

(on second look, the outlaws and chyna were also present) I do believe that specific Raw was from July 98 and featured the X-Pac / Rocky IC title match. HBK was doing guest commentary which would explain why he was at ringside. He had returned just a week or two prior to boost the Raw ratings after they were killed by the Georgia Dome Nitro that featured Goldberg's title win. Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Speaking of which...I could've SWORN HHH admitted to attacking Shawn that night at some point in 1999 when they were selling him as the Cerebal Assassian...
Guest papacita Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Speaking of which...I could've SWORN HHH admitted to attacking Shawn that night at some point in 1999 when they were selling him as the Cerebal Assassian... Nah, but they insinuated that he was behind the Corporation's assault on him that put him out of action for a while. Basically, Shawn was headed into the parking lot to pick up a surprise for Vince McMahon (Austin) and HHH gave him the wrong keys. When he tried to get back inside, the door was locked, then Bossman and the Corporation appeared and attacked him. Right before it all went down, HHH and DX said "what goes around comes around." Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 21, 2003 That is what I meant that he was behind it all... Speaking of Which did we ever find out who dumped the cinder block on Austin? It was also infered to be HHH as well
Guest papacita Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Nah I don't think they did. I think it may have been Michaels, since he ended up turning and they never went anywhere with it.

Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted April 23, 2003 Nah I don't think they did. I think it may have been Michaels, since he ended up turning and they never went anywhere with it. The funniest of those turns was the first regular Smackdown after SummerSlam that year. Its Rocky and HHH for the title and Shawn's the guest ref. All night they were talking up Shawn's loyalties and such. Anyway Shane McMahon is also in the picture at this time for some reason (last remants of the Corporation with HHH and Chyna I guess) and the match is your usual WWF TV main event in those days and all of a sudden "BOOM" Shawn sweet chin musics Rocky and counts the One-Two-Three for Hunter's first title defense. Afterwards Shawn, Shane, HHH and Chyna all embraced and it looked liked the begininngs of a new stable. Well that was the last anyone saw of Shawn Michaels untill around Judgement Day of 2000 when he was brought back again to be guest ref at the Rock-HHH ironman match. I think at that time he was removed because of some backstage comments he made about The Rock. I think, plus, and I may be f'n up the time line here but he wanted to spend more time with his school/promotion down in Texas. BTW why did he close it? Other than being back to full-time work with the WWE but he could have had some local people down there work as the head of it Steve

Other than being back to full-time work with the WWE but he could have had some local people down there work as the head of it IIRC, Shawn said on Byte This, Austin should of jobbed to HHH at Sumerslam '99. He was then pullled from the shows. And he didn't close down his school. He sold it to his second head trainer (Rudy Gonzalez). It was during one of those HBK's coming back full-time deals, but he never came back until last year. The former Texas Wrestling Alliance is now Extreme Texas Wrestling. They do some talent exchanges with RoH, and they have a website, but its hosted by geocities.

According to HBK's shoot, and I tend to believe him on THIS one (not so much the others), that was blown way out of proportion. He didn't mean anything by it and he and Steve are pretty good friends. Actually Shawn was still "commissioner" untill his return in the Spring of 2000 when he basically "resigned" the position so Foley was hired by Linda and Shawn was put into an "ambassador" role (like Snuka, Blassie, and other WWF legends) basically making apperances every now and then at WWF non TV show events (First days at the box office, charities, ect) or Raw/Smackdown/PPV parites at the WWFNY untill he returned full time as a member of the nWo last summer Steve
