Guest EQ Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): At the end of the game, the King of Hyrule shows up out of NOWHERE and wishes that the land of Hyrule be gone forever. You then fight Ganondorf and then the Land of Hyrule is pretty much destroyed... I don't know about any of you guys, but this ending pisses me off and seems very anti-climactic. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Doesn't this game happen after all those that have come before? Spoiler (Highlight to Read): depending on how it's done it might be a nice way to finally end the Zelda series
Guest EQ Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): That's what I was thinking also. But the storyline doesn't leave alot of room for something to happen in between Ocarina Of Time and this one. I don't know where the other games fall in the timeline. I don't think Nintendo does either.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Uh... About your first spoiler. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The King of Hyrule was the ship that you've been riding in for the whole game. The Land of Hyrule WAS already destroyed, but the Castle and its lands were left. Thusly, the city/castle/lands being destroyed in the end just signals the totally destruction of what was Hyrule. And technically, the lands of Hyrule are still around as the islands are pretty much what's left of Hyrule. However, these islands will become the new Hyrule that is yet to be. Also, the lands of Hyrule will be remade. Did you forget the Dekaru Tree and how it said "spread more forests around the world?" So Hyrule will return, but be reborn into something new. So I don't see this game as being the end of the Zelda series, but rather the game that sets up the next game as a rebirth of everything. Maybe with the new game, they'll revision it into something different. Or if Nintendo wants it, this could be the final game.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Wind Waker takes place hundreds of years after Ocarina of Time. It states that in the very beginning of Wind Waker.
Guest EQ Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Wind Waker takes place hundreds of years after Ocarina of Time. It states that in the very beginning of Wind Waker. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Yeah, but after the events of OoT, Ganon returns and "destroys" Hyrule. There was no hero to save them this time. So unless they want to do a side-story between the events of OoT and Wind Waker, they can't really use Ganon as the villain

Hell, all someone has to do for a write up is to say that someone accidently grabbed Ganon while fishing or something (excavation even).

Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I know that the ship was the King, but that doesn't explain how he was able to just show up there out of the blue. It just seems to me that the goal of this game should have been to bring Hyrule back to its former glory, not what it has become at this time. I suppose this game could be a nice way to start something completely new for the next game, but I would have been more satisfied had you restored Hyrule at the end. That's just me

I wouldn't be surprised if the way to revive Ganon is to remove the Master Sword from the stone.

The Zelda series has always been about "save Hyrule from Ganon and his usage of the Triforce". In order for the Zelda series to move on and hell, not even USE that setting, or even the possiblity of Ganon being gone for the next game, they needed to play it out as such as they did. What would the rebirth be? I don't know. I'm just saying.

I guess it's run its course, but I'm sad to see Hyrule go. I'm sure whatever they come up with for the next game will be great, but not the same.

Everyone is SO used to true blue Zelda format. I mean, hell, was anyone REALLY hoping that the guy who stole your sis wasn't Ganon? I mean there really hasn't been another true villian in the Zelda series. Hence why the change. Heck, the next game might actually have Zelda be the hero this time around for something different. Guest R2DFooster McSockman Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Isn't using the spoiler tags in a topic that has 'spoilers inside' in the title a little redundant? edit: I decided that making this a spoiler would be funny in an 'I'm a fucking idiot' way. So I have done.

Guest EQ Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I realized the redundancy, but my experience on message boards has taught me that there are idiots out there who will read the fact that there are spoilers in the topic title, go in anyway, and then bitch when they get spoiled. At this point, however, it's become kind of funny... in one of those stupid ways

Well then, they could probably just revive that guy instead, I guess. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The villain in MM wasn't really a villain so to speak. He was a mask that strayed from its owner and grew to obscene power. Basically, an inanimate object.

Guest EQ Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Everything that people have said about Majora's Mask is correct. I know for a fact that that game immediately followed the events of Ocarina of Time, but it was still a side-story, which eventually will not have an impact on the main storyline of the series
