Guest Nevermortal Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I'm thinking about finally getting a CDBurner....but I want to know what exactly is better.... Internal CD Burners or External ones? I'm thinking external only because its less of a risk, I don't have to open my computer and tinker with wires or any of that crap. I'm not the best when it comes to that stuff; I'm too afraid that I'll fuck something up.
Guest razazteca Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 if you get an external get one that uses fast transfer rates like Firewire or USB 2.0

Guest Ace309 Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I'll second Areacode. It's really, really, really hard to fuck up. You just need to screw it into the rails and plug a cable into the back. And the cable's tabbed so you can't put it in the wrong way.
Guest EQ Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 I have an external burner only because all I have is a laptop. If I had a choice, I'd go internal, cause one it's in, it's there and you can just forget about it
Guest hardyz1 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 A couple years ago, internal would win by a landslide. Now, with Firewire and USB 2.0, external drives seem more intriguing. But I agree with the above guys and say get an internal drive. It's fun and educational. And cheaper. Hell, you can get a high quality internal burner for under $100.
Guest EQ Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 The price is what does it for me. Probably the only benefit an external has is that if you want to unhook it and bring it over to a friend's (for whatever reason) you can do it easily. Otherwise, go with the cheaper internal.
