Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Just a quick note to anyone who's interested in these sort of things that I won't be posting a DVD News update for a couple weeks. With a shitload of deadlines rapidly approaching (I need to magic up 12,000 words by Monday, 5,000 by the following Monday and 7,500 for the Friday after that, having written NOTHING all year) I just can't fit it into the schedule. Not that anyone really cares about pilfered DVD news, or even Jay Spree himself right now given how long Def Jam's been on the frontpage. Anyway, jus so ya no. -Jay
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Not to be a kiss-ass or anything (no, really), but your This Week in DVD's and video-game reviews are "must-reads" each week on the front page. Good luck with meeting your deadlines, as I'm hopeful for a speedy return.

Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted April 23, 2003 I haven't read all your columns, but what I have read has been pretty good. Hate that you're over worked, but I feel your pain. Stupid finals coming up has got all the teachers here in a tizzy. Anyways, good luck on whatever deadlines you have to make, and I'll make it a point to try and read your columns more often when you return

Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted April 23, 2003 Well, currently I'm standing at 9,140 words done for my Monday deadline. However, I've since discovered that the word count I've got to meet is 15,000, not 12,000. D'oh. We've got 3,004 words on a preacher on a doomed airliner who must renounce God for Satan to save the flight, 3,628 words on a dude that dies live on a webcam, and 2,508 words about a dude longing for a chick in the library while he attempts to read Pound's Cantos. I'm working on a love story right now about a guy who falls in love with a protitute, and I've got two ideas to start after that - a letter home from a POW, and a guy who gets a Dear John from his girlfriend. So I think I'm alright, as long as I don't keep stopping to play Burnout 2... I haven't read all your columns, but what I have read has been pretty good. Hate that you're over worked, but I feel your pain. Stupid finals coming up has got all the teachers here in a tizzy. Anyways, good luck on whatever deadlines you have to make, and I'll make it a point to try and read your columns more often when you return That's really cool man, thank you. That sucks Jay, but real life is always more important. Always. You know, sometimes it's easy to forget that.

Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted April 24, 2003 Sucks man, been reading your column since you started. You will be missed untill you come back That's awesome man, thanks. Shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks, then I'm free to get busy with DVD and game reviews, news updates, and writing the script for a pilot I'm working on...
