Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Waffle House > IHOP > Dennys Of course. But, around these parts (suburban Chicago), there are no Waffle Houses. Jason NO WAY! I am SURE if you look around you'll find a Waffle House... I've been through Chitown before and I KNOW I SAW ONE... There are none in a thirty mile radius from my house. Chicago has some, the further west suburbs have some, the southern suburbs have some, but my area (Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Bartlett, etc.) doesn't have any Waffle Houses. We're overloaded with Denny's, though. Waffle Houses aren't the only things that we get deprived of. The nearest Fazoli's is well over 25-30 miles away from my house. I've never eaten at a Sonic, we don't have Chik-fil-A, no Hardee's within about 30 miles, no Sonny's barbeque (I eat there every time I go down south), Church's Chicken is nowhere to be seen (although we used to have one, so I wonder if they actually went under as a whole company), and many more. Although, we do get Lou Malnati's (I don't like it too much, but it's cult-like around here and pretty much the U.S. I heard) and Portillo's (which is awesome). Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted April 26, 2003 To make it worse, one of the people I was with is the guy who is always at MSG shows, and ppvs, with a white tanktop and glasses who usually sat either front row or the first few rows facing the camera. So a bunch of people spot him and start whispering. Well, that's what you get for hanging out with that guy. Dames that guy is at every event...... you should have been w/ Hawaiian shirt guy from the ECW arena shows
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted April 28, 2003 As Lance Storm once said in a commentary: "Denny's: Come on, it's not like you expected to leave happy!" Another reason to worship Lance Storm. Interestingly enough, my nieghbor saw Lance and Christan after a show in my home town and got their autograph for me.

Guest SweetNSexyDiva Report post Posted April 28, 2003 I never said the food was fabulous! Just that it was a great place to go when I was under 18 in the middle of the night and to sober up after an evening of libation!

ISportsFan, you ever go to Peep's in Arlington Heights? It's on the corner of Thomas and Rand. Awesome food. I grew up with Peep's.
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Portillo's is the best. ISportsFan, you ever go to Peep's in Arlington Heights? It's on the corner of Thomas and Rand. Awesome food. I grew up with Peep's. Yeah, I've been there, that's some good stuff. We get deprived of lots of good chains and stuff, but we get some of the best local crap in the history of restaurants. Guest Miss Indy Queen Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Well, that's what you get for hanging out with that guy. Dames Well I wasn't only with him, I was with other people that people recognized as well. Just lesson learned, NEVER go to Denny's right before a flight. You might never make it on time. Jason Yeah I haven't been to Peep's in a while (oddly enough it looks like they ahven't changed their signage or decor since 1983) but the woman that ostensibly runs the place is funny, always going"what'll it be honey?" "and hurry up with that chili Paco or I'll get your green card revoked." Good stuff. Definitely great local stuff. Peep's, Luke's, Portillo's, not to mention Culver's for our friends up nort, hey. Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted May 1, 2003 There are two within walking distance of me, but I prefer the one with the shorter distance, their service is a Hell of alot better. My family actually walked out of that other one.
