Click to see the roster (click on the first update from 4/24 reading "SVC CHAOS" with some Japanese text)

Ladies and gentlemen...

Representing SNK...

Kyo Kusanagi (King of Fighters)

Iori Yagami (King of Fighters)

Mai Shiranui (Fatal Fury)

Earthquake (Samurai Shodown)

Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury)

Ryo Sakazaki (Art of Fighting)

Shiki (Samurai Shodown 64)

Choi Bounge (King of Fighters)

And representing Capcom...

Ryu (Street Fighter)

Ken (Street Fighter)

Chun Li (Street Fighter)

Hugo (Final Fight/Street Fighter 3)

Guile (Street Fighter)

Tabasa (Warzard)

Akuma (Street Fighter)

Dhalsim (Street Fighter)

And there you have it...let's hear those opinions and gripes.

With such a small roster, does anybody else strongly feel it will be one-on-one format?

Yeah, one on one makes sense. I'm glad, too.

As for gripes....

Earthquake, Choi and Hugo are on the roster. Do I even need to eleborate there?

Why Hugo? Why not give Sean some love? :(

In case anybody was wondering, Tabasa is from the virtually unknown Capcom fighting game Warzard AKA Red Earth. She's also appears in Pocket Fighter under the name Tessa. I had to do some research, but that's who she is.

My intrigue is slightly perked for a Choi vs Hugo battle for the obligatory David vs Goliath match, but that's the only thing I'm really looking forward to involving those two.

SNK

Kyo Kusanagi (King of Fighters)- No Brainer, but I hate Kyo's school outfit, they really should stick to the newer one.

Iori Yagami (King of Fighters)Mai Shiranui (Fatal Fury)- No brainers.

Terry Boggard (Fatal Fury)- Terry is SNK, Terry is the king of fighters. I would have been very pissed if he wasnt in this.

Earthquake (SS)- Hoss that wasnt needed

Ryo Sakazaki (Art of Fighting)- As long as he has his AoF stance I'm cool with it.

Shiki (Samurai Shodown 64)- Never played SS64, and I dont think alot of other people have either, so I dont really see the point.

Choi Bounge (King of Fighters)- Never liked Choi.

Capcom

Ryu (Street Fighter)/Ken (Street Fighter)Chun Li (Street Fighter)- As was expected

Hugo (Final Fight/Street Fighter 3)- Hoss, and not a good one at that.

Guile (Street Fighter)- Good addition.

Tabasa (Warzard)- ummmm....why?

Akuma (Street Fighter)- Well you cant have just two shotos

Dhalsim (Street Fighter)- Never cared for Dhalsim.

Please tell me there will be more characters to be named later, as nothing here has wowed me.

They put two (well, only one original) Shodown characters in and none of them is Haohmaru??? Dammit. And none of the original SF bosses...they obviously save plenty of stuff for the inevitable sequel.

OK, from what I've just been reading, there are most likely people yet to be added to the rosters, so keep your fingers crossed if your favorite character isn't on here.

What a stupid roster. Someone in the SNK collective has always been obsessed with Choi, as he is quite disliked amongst fans.

Do you have the source of that Ced?

Playmore reveals more of the characters in its upcoming NeoGeo crossover fighting game.

Playmore has updated its site with a list of the characters who will be found in the company's upcoming crossover fighting game, SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos. The lineup of characters on SNK's side will include Kyo, Iori, Mai, Terry, Earthquake, Ryo, Shiki (Samurai Shodown 64), and Choi. On Capcom's side, the characters that have been confirmed are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Hugo, Guile, Tabasa (Warzard), Dhalsim, and Akuma.

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is scheduled to hit Japanese arcades this summer

- Hirohiko Niizumi, GameSpot

The title of the article suggests that it isn't a complete list.

More news:

"Playmore revealed the concept of SvC to be "SSI" - Simple(simple controls), Speedy(Speedy gameplay), and Insight(deep gameplay). The other concept of SvC is "Not a match", refering the game to not be tournament style like "Capcom vs SNK 2" or the "King Of Fighters" series. It is unknown if this part (Not a match) will have any effect to the actual gameplay."

- Not a match? That doesnt sound good.

"SNK vs Capcom will be adopting a new system called "Ground Step" instead of the traditional running system, which will be an advanced version of a short hop(dash) system. The Ground step system will also allow the player to attack seamlessly, although it is not clear if attacks can be made in the middle of the step(s)."

Who the hell is Hugo? I don't remember him from Final Fight, unless of course he was in the arcade version.

His full name is Hugo Andore, he is one of the many Andore or Andore Jr's in final fight. In Street fighter 3 Poison (or Billy/Sid if you've played a US final fight) is in Hugos openings and supposedly Capcom were influenced by Andre the Giant whilst creating Andore.

Ah yes, Andore. Those guys ruled all.
