Guest tank_abbott Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Wrong Turn Plot Outline: A carload of six teens find themselves trapped in the woods of West Virginia, hunted down by "cannibalistic mountain men grossly disfigured through generations of in-breeding." Now Deliverance is my absolute Favorite movie, and i like these Man vs Man/Nature type of films (Southern Comfort, Surviving the Game, etc...) So I'm really looking forward to this one... More than The Hulk, X-2, etc...
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 I recall reading a review of this sucker on Aint It Cool News and I totally dug what I read.
Guest MrRant Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 I think I saw a older horror movie like this on the Independent Film Channel but the name escapes me. EXACT same plot.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Sounds pretty cool. I'm also looking forward to Highwaymen. It sounds like my kind of movie, and it's directed by Robert Harmon, so maybe he'll go back to his Hitcher roots.
Guest raptor Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Eliza Dushku is in it. It will be great just for that reason. She made "Soul Survivor" watchable. SOUL SURVIVOR. And the old movie you saw was the incredible "The Hills Have Eyes." Wes Craven's first film, I believe. I suggest any horror fan track it down.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 There's a good deal of influence from three or four movies here, but it still sounds good.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Last House On The Left was Craven's first film, besides Together, which I think he had a minor crew role on.
Guest J*ingus Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Teens stuck in the woods, being hunted by insane killers? Well, which of the seven thousand movies with that plot do ya think this one ripped off in particular?
Guest evenflowDDT Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Written by Alan B.allistic: Ecks vs. Sever McElroy and directed by Rob Dostoyevsky Spin in Grave? Starring Eliza "everyone else seems to have heard of her and loves her but me" Dushku? I... can't wait? Plot sounds interesting though, but I haven't even seen Hills yet.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Almost sounds like The Hills Have Eyes
Guest MrRant Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 The Hills Have Eyes is what I was thinking about. Saw it over the week of Halloween a couple years back.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 The Hills Have Eyes is what I was thinking about. Saw it over the week of Halloween a couple years back. Creepy ass movie, and unlike House of 1,000 Corpses they didn't need all the blood and over the top meyhem to freak people out.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 if it was written by the Ballistic guy...count me out...
Guest red_file Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 I keep trying to figure out the necessity of having them "grossly disfigured through generations of in-breeding." I mean, yes, I understand the desire to make them as frightening as possible, but it seems sloppy to me; it'll make them no different than anonymous monsters in the woods. Sure, the film probably didn't have any aspirations beyond that, but it's still a bit sad to see. I love Eliza, but I still haven't gotten around to seeing Soul Survivors yet. So this one'll have to wait.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 I love Eliza, but I still haven't gotten around to seeing Soul Survivors yet. So this one'll have to wait. You lucky bastard! Avoid Soul Survivors like SARS! Don't go near it.
Guest Lethargic Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 The Eliza Dushku-starring horror film Wrong Turn will hit theaters on May 30 but we have yet to see any footage from the 20th Century Fox film, directed by Rob Schmidt. Coming Soon! has learned from an anonymous source, and confirmed with the studio, that there will not be a theatrical trailer for Wrong Turn because the MPAA refused to approve three different versions. Each version was deemed "too intense." With the release date coming up fast the studio has decided to focus on TV buys instead. In the film, a wrong turn leaves a group of young people trapped and hunted in the West Virginia wilderness. The makeup and creature effects were created by f/x guru Stan Winston. Jeremy Sisto, Desmond Harrington and Emmanuelle Chriqui also star in the R-rated film.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 I'm all for a movie with Emmanuelle Chriqui.
