Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted March 23, 2002 This is a third attempt to write about crap. This time the crap in question is Ludwig Borega. Before there was Ludwig Borega, there was Tony Halme. Halme was member of New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1992. New Japan in 1992 was a hot commodity, guys like Jyushin "Thunder" Lyger, Chris Benoit, Masa Chono, and Keiji Muto all put on great matches. Tony Halme? Well he sucked. Halme's skills were non exhistant. Halme took place in the 1992 G1 Climax for the NWA title. Every tournament needs some loser. The 2000 King of the Ring had CRASH! In November of 1992 Halme and Scott Norton beat The Steiners for the IWGP tag titles. The next night Norton and TNT fought Halme and Ron "Bruiser Brody wannabe" Powers. Halme's team lost when he clothelined his partner by mistake. In January Halme and Norton lost the IWGP Titles and Halme jobbed to some more New Japan guys before he joined the WWF. The WWF didn't need a blonde with a bad haircut named Tony Halme, they needed a Finish villian with a bad haircut. Halme was now Ludwig Borega. Borega gave shitty promos about the US being trashy and gross. He debuted in August and beat Mary Jannetty at SummerSlam. Then he feuded with Tantanka. (The Indian VS The Finish: Smell the buyrate!). In Oct of 1993 Borega caused Tatanka to lose to Yokozuna. Lex Luger was pissed so HE got to feud with Borega. Then Pat Patterson had a stroke of Genius for WM 10. WWF Championship match between Lugwid Borega and Lex Luger so Luger can win the title. WHAT THE FUCK! Forget that Borega sucks in the ring and has 0 mic skills, let him lead the company. Tatanka was supposed to face Borega at Royal Rumble 1994, (probably to set up his title win) when it was decided that Borega sucked and could't draw so he got fired. I haven't seen Borega since and don't really care anyways.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I think it was Borga, not Borega.
Guest Sykotic2002 Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Didn't he break his ankle or something before the match with Tatanka?
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted March 24, 2002 its Ludvig BORga and Tatanka's strak ended by losing to Borga himself, thanks to 1 finger. He shatterd his ankle vs. a Stiener I remember.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Borga wasnt fired til the summer time, cause he was scheduled to fight Earthquake at Wrestlemania 10, but his ankle still wasnt right. No offense, but you cant spread lies about the guy and the storylines and such.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted March 24, 2002 cut me some slack, I'm going almost COMPLETELY on memory from something nearly ten years ago.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted March 24, 2002 its ok, it was still a good column, but the jokes or what you would call them, were alittle to harsh towards him and not to whoever created the whole gimmick. (i actually liked him cause he finally put Tanto back wher ehe belongs, the bottom-midcard).
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Yeah the guy who ended Tatanka's winning streak is okay in my book. Last I heard he was boxing. I think in Finland. He was actually Finnish right?
Guest Asplagis Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Ludvig Borga aka Tony Halme is indeed a Finn and he had a career in boxing prior to his wrestling one. He's also made his way into shoot fights via early UFC competitions where he never did get very far... As far as I know he wasn't a bad boxer, but he wasn't anything special either. He has his own official website (which is in Finnish with no translations available as far as I recall) where you can see our nordic friend in Viking garb. His WWF career was amusing thanks to his silly gimmick. I doubt most WWF fans have any idea what nordic countries are like and it's not like the workings of the providence state in Finland is something they cared about either.
