Guest Invader3k Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I just read my copy of GI Joe #4 (the new series by Devil's Due), and must say I was quite impressed. While the middle two issues in this four parter left me slightly underwhelmed, #4 brought me right back in, the same way the initial issue pulled me in. I mean, by the end of the issue there are so many questions left unanswered, like: - Who rescued Cobra Commander? I assume it was a ninja of some sort. Storm Shadow maybe? I don't know. - What happens to Alexander now that the real Destro is back? - I found the idea of Cobra gaining the American public's trust to be quite interesting, and am wondering how that will play out. I will definitely be picking up this series regularly from now on. Needless to say I'm quite impressed with what Devil's Due has done so far. My only minor complaint is that I never had all the issues from the original series, so I don't exactly remember all the details of the orignal plot, like how the Jugglers affected things, some other stuff. Still, I'm liking this series. Anyone else have thoughts on GI Joe?
Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 23, 2002 Actually, it's kinda funny, because I found #4 to be the weakest of the series, since it really seemed to rush the ending. Overall, I thought the quality of the mini declined throughout.
Guest Judas14 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 - Who rescued Cobra Commander? I assume it was a ninja of some sort. Storm Shadow maybe? I don't know. It more than likely Storm Shadow, if not because of the fact that they've already revealed that the next storyline is supposed to revolve around him. Though the real question will be is SS acting on his own free will and has something planned for CC or if Cobra Commander has him under mind control and using him as his bodyguard... - What happens to Alexander now that the real Destro is back? Stay around as a background character and scheme against Daddy Destro and be a shit-disturber.... - I found the idea of Cobra gaining the American public's trust to be quite interesting, and am wondering how that will play out. It will most likely be forgotten by the writers, which is sad because it's a storyline that has a great deal of potential if the writers follow-up on it....
