Guest Special K Report post Posted April 29, 2003 So after a long (about 8 years absence from comics, I find mysel interested once more w/ the Dark Knight. My little bro had some issues of the bats lying around, and I found them quite well written. ( I especially liked some of the Batman Black&White) My question is what should I buy> Apparently Return of the Dark Knight is an absolute must'read. But keep in mind I've been completely uncultured in the DC universe. What else should I get? Knightfall? Killing Joke? I'm looking at you Zsasz
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I'd throw out a rather big one and tell you to go and track down a copy of Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. It's a really interesting take on Batman for the times, and was the precursor to many of the "grim and gritty" heroes that came along. Also has a pretty interesting Batman/Superman fight. On a personal note, I'd like to suggest the first couple of volumes of Batman:No Man's Land. It's really interesting to see Batman work without using his fancy gadgets, and also shows a really pro-active Commissioner Gordon trying to take back his city. Guest raptor Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I believe that the Hush TPB is out now. It's been very entertaining so far, and a little lighter than recent Bat-offereings.
