Cruel Intentions

OK, so I know it is an old movie, but I popped in in the other day. It has been a couple years since I've watched it. Whew, I didn't think it was that long since my last time , but I was feeling a little hot and bothered! LOL! The second one didn't do the first one justice at all... it was supremely lame actually! I couldn't get through more than 15 minutes of it.

The second one was some straight to video crap that was half sequal and half remake

Wrong :)

Cruel Intentions 2 was supposed to be a prequel television show to Cruel Intentions. Fox had a hard-on for the show, but reports went around that one of the big guy's at Fox saw a commercial for the show which featured the two girls making out.

As a result, a full season of the show wasn't ordered and whatever distribution company picked it up, paid for the filming of an additional forty-five minutes or so, and Cruel Intentions 2 was born. I found parts of the film funny, but it DEFINETLY was not 1/4 as good as the first one.

Oh, I didn't know that's how it came about... interesting.

<~~~~~~~~~~ Resident direct-to-video, extremely limited theatrical run, ressurected from a TV pilot, etc. expert.

I own close to two hundred DTV films. And it grows everday.

Well how the hell am I suppose to know the backstory? I could only go by the crap thrown at me from the screen.

For what it was, it was alright.

Still not as good as the first, but funny still.

The big question is it worth $5.88?

No...not even for the nude scene

If you ask me, Sarah Michelle Gellar never looked better or hotter that she did in Cruel Intentions. Ok, maybe in that bathing suit in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

What the hell happened to her? Does she eat anymore? Where have her breasts gone?

I haven't liked the way SMG looked since 1999. Every year on Buffy she loses more weight, it's not attractive.

Movies like Cruel Intentions piss me off, because there should totally be NUDITY in them, but because they are using, "hot teen actresses" instead of an average actress, nudity is avoided at all costs. I know, I'm a pervert, so what? Compare Fast TImes at Ridgemont high, with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Phobe Cates both going nude, to ANY teen movie of the 90's-2003 on the same level and you will see nothing.

I liked this movie the first time I saw it…

…WHEN IT WAS DANGEROUS LIAISONS!!!

Horrendous movie remakes with MTV-friendly teen hack actors make baby Jesus cry.

;)

so who goes nude in this movie?

In #2 just some random twin girls, they look nice and all, but the kissing scene in the first one did way more for me.

For the first one or the second one?

I put Cruel Intentions up there in my top 5 favorite movies (with Almost Famous, American Beauty, Vanilla Sky, and Full Metal Jacket/Starship Troopers/Kung Pow (I KNOW I KNOW I thought it was hilarious, fuck off)), so I guess you can classify me as a CI mark.

And since I've never seen Buffy, and really don't ever c are to see it, all I know of Sarah Michelle Gellar is this movie, and it is :headbang:.

Erm...resident CI mark alert here

In the first movie, there is nudity in one of the deleted scenes(An extended take of the scene when Sebastian calls Annette asking if his glasses are there). Roger Kumble said he wanted nudity in it but that the distribution company vetoed the idea so they shortened the scene.

Agreed. I don't think Cruel Intentions was horrendous or anything, but it definitely was not in the same league as Dangerous Liaisons.

Of what genres? Horror? If so, you're my hero. If not... you're STILL my hero!

Until reading this thread, I was the only person I knew who wasn't absolutely fawning over Cruel Intentions. I suppose there wasn't anything wrong with the storyline but it just bored me. If I wanted skin, I'd watch Cinemax. And the attractiveness of Sarah Michelle Gellar (who I've never really been a fan of anyway... she's OK I guess) is apparently the only appeal of the movie to anyone.

A lot of the DTV films I own are horror. In fact, Maniacts from MTI (MTIVideo.com) just arrived in the mail today in screener form, along with a few of Brain Damage Films' new releases.

Only problem with DTV horror is that all too often directors now try to be like Sixth Sense or Stigmata, as per the example of Spartan Entertainment's abortion, "Hellion: The Devil's Playground."

DTV action films, though, are my favorites. They're often really stupid and have huge plot holes, but hey, what can I say besides for the fact that they entertain me?

She was definitely a perk(Hell, I love her) but I also dig Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe so what do I know ;) Am I the only one who just felt horrible for SMG at the end yet knew she deserved it all and much more?...Also this has IMO, the best shut down ever.

Katherine - "I want to fuck"

Sebastian - "And I don't"

*Sebastian calmly walks out, shutting the door causing Katherine to throw her glass at the door*

Exactly. She played one of those characters that you loved to hate, but also one you didn't want to see go down in flames like she did.
