Rob E Dangerously Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 "Bush plans to make history today by landing in a small four-person plane on a moving aircraft carrier hundreds of miles from shore... President will be in co-pilot's seat..." Certainly this will work out and everybody will be safe. But, This just strikes me as very odd.

And if we are gonna put up stuff like this... http://www.1stcavmedic.com/bill-clinton-draft.htm

Guest Tyler McClelland Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Oh, don't even get me started on Republican draft dodgers.

Guest Olympic Slam Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 You people are all REALLY catty today. It's a beautiful day outside (well, where I'm at). Go outside and date a girl or something like that. No kidding. I took a vacation from this forum because everybody was extra catty and most post were getting almost robotic. In a nut shell....... Conservative: blah blah I know for a fact that George Bush speaks with God every night because he can do no wrong and is a product of the heavens. blah blah bomb everything! Liberal: bla blah oil....blah blah there is no god.....oh woe is me the world is so awful. I hate everything because the world doesn't understand me and my brilliant cynical ways. .....and so on and so forth. Time to back outside.......

And if we are gonna put up stuff like this... http://www.1stcavmedic.com/bill-clinton-draft.htm What have we learned today? That high-ranking politicians dodge military service. Regardless of the party line, this is something that's always bothered me, because here are people making decisions on sending people to combat or whatnot without having ANY idea about what it's actually like themselves. Anyway, that's my mini-tirade for the day... as for Bush landing a plane? Who cares? I don't mean that in an "I hate Bush so I don't care" way, I mean, is this a hard feat or something? Unless you're involved in aviation, you might get excited about it, otherwise it doesn't sound very impressive. Certainly not newsworthy.

I turned on the news today to only to see every news anchor known to man creaming themselves over Bush landing a plane, replay after replay, after replay.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 President Bush didn't even land the plane. It was a good pr move by the White House though.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 It was sheer brilliance, although that chick on FNC's Special Report made a good point that if it was Clinton doing the stunt, Conservatives would be in an uproar over staging such an event...
Guest TheMikeSC Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 It was sheer brilliance, although that chick on FNC's Special Report made a good point that if it was Clinton doing the stunt, Conservatives would be in an uproar over staging such an event... Honestly, that's because Clinton had a habit of grandstanding. Bush's willingness to let Giuliani shine after the 9/11 attacks shows that he is willing to step back and let somebody else bask in the glow occasionally. Clinton, and even you supporters can't deny this, wanted to be center stage for every single news event during his entire tenure. -=Mike
