Z Speaks out G.

The following appears courtesy of Zwrestling.com:

Q: 1. I am sure that you have been told by many people ever since you first decided to become a wrestler that you could never make it. But have there been any people in the industry that have accused you of using your disability to your advantage (sympathy etc.)?

ANSWER: Yes, a lot of people in fact. However, the fact is this: I have used my disability to my advantage. You see in this business, you have to somehow stand out from the thousands of other starving indie workers. Whether that means being the best mat wrestler in the U.S. (Alex Shelly), kicking people as hard as possible (Lo-Ki), or dropping a top rope elbow--while it's on fire (Necro Butcher).

With that being said, I didn't get a WWE contract because I have one leg, I gotta WWE contract because I have one leg and I can work.

I take pride in my work. I love it when people say, "man, at first I didn't expect much but that was a really good match" or when workers say, "thanks for making me look good out there". To me, bumping and selling is the most important aspect of pro wrestling.

Q: 2. If you could work a match with anyone on the current WWE roster who would it be?

ANSWER: I think I could have really good matches with Jamie Knoble. The guy is awesome and his trainer (Dean Malenko) is one of my all time favorites. You can definitely see the Malenko influence when you watch Knoble wrestle.

I'm also a huge fan of Brian Kendrick, the kid is simply amazing. Can't wait to get in the ring with him. This may sound odd, but I can't wait to have a match with A-Train. I think we would have a tremendous big guy/little guy match. I'm a big fan of A-Train's work, the guy has a great look and can move incredibly well.

Q: 3. What are your opinions on the British wrestlers which have been making waves in the US recently (Jody Fleisch, Jonny Storm and Doug Williams)?

ANSWER: All 3 of those guys are tremendously impressive. I'd like to see a little more of Fleisch though, I haven't seen too much of him but his spots look really good.

Jonny Storm is certainly a character, I met him down in NWA: TNA a few weeks ago. He's very charismatic and skilled but I wish he'd work out little harder (I know, looks who's talking, lol). Doug Williams is fantastic! He's probably my favorite worker to watch right now.

Q: 4. Would you have turned down a job with WWE if they had basically told you that your role in the company would be as a comedy character or a sideshow, as opposed to being taken seriously as a wrestler?

ANSWER: No. I would prefer to not be a complete sideshow or comedy character but sometimes that's what the role calls for. Look at The Rock: He's taken seriously as a wrestler but his character is very sarcastic and comedic.

Same thing with The Hurricane: He started out strictly as a comedy character but now he's evolving into a more serious wrestler. It's called character development, you always need to keep changing to stay ahead of the game. A good character needs a little bit of everything to stay fresh, in my opinion.

Ahh, so that explains why WWE is letting Knoble get lost in the shuffle. Malenko-syndrome.

Alluding to another thread, it's a shame that all the best workers never get elevated because they're only used to elevate the mediocre ones. When's the last time a guy like Noble got a high-profile win? And as far as I can recall, he was the longest-reigning CW champ in WW_.

Is Stephie-Moo's retarded obsession with Nidia's weight so much of an issue that she's willing to stifle such a promising career for Noble, not to mention depriving the fans of his stellar performances? Stupid humans.

High-profile win? Hell, I'll take *any* win by Knoble. I think Funaki even beat Knoble not that long ago on Velocity.

Much like the "Fuck Goldberg" sentiments most of the board has, I fully endorse a "Fuck Steph" campaign, as well.

Fuck Steph.

This kid is in for a rude awakening if he honestly thinks he won't be used as a comedy or side show character.

Unfortunately, the general WW_ fanbase couldn't buy Z as anything but a sideshow attraction. They might not use him comedically, but I don't think the fans can take him as a serious contender, especially if he's gonna be in the RAW camp.

Honestly, is there any way to promote him as anything but a "one-legged wrestler"? Personally, I'd love to see it. But I don't have even a tenth of the faith in the booking staff it would take to believe it could ever happen.

I'm sure he figures if he's smart with his money he won't have to work in the Indy's very much. If I were in Z's position, since I already signed with the devil, might as well ride it out and make some loot.
