Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 With the addition of Liz, the Summerslam 1988 death toll now has Davey Boy Smith, JYD, Rude, Dino Bravo, Frankie, Andre, and Liz. And to those who are the walking dead: Bret Hart - the stroke Jake Roberts - He's Jake Roberts. Warlord - Can barely walk now Dynamite Kid - near cripple. Who will be next? Note: This isn't meant as disrespect, I just find it kind of weird that most of the guys from 80's WWE that are now dead competed on this card, minus the '89 Summerslam PPV debut of Hennig.
Guest Memphis Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I honestly couldn't take it if the Hitman died. He's been my hero since i was seven years old, it'd just be too much. However, he's doing okay now and I hardly consider him 'walking dead'. A stroke won't keep him down. M
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 "Barbarian - Can barely walk now" What happened with him?
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Oops. I meant Warlord. Incase you don't know this, Warlord got nailed by a Pizza Hut delivery car in '94 or so and is either in a wheelchair or very injured because of it. The scary part? Warlord actually trains wrestlers. Seriously. Warlord. Yes, Warlord. Dale Torborg was one of his students. Case-in-point. I'll go edit that now.
Guest Choken One Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Yikes. Who else was on the card? Couldn't we say this about ALOT of Late 80's Cards?
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Take any Survivor Series card for example...
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 You probably could, but this was just something that came to my mind again since Liz died. I remember having SS 88 as a kid on video (like 5, 6 years ago), and always found it odd how so many of the guys were dead. The British Bulldogs vs. Jacques & Raymond Rougeau Bad News Brown vs. Ken Patera Rick Rude vs. Junkyard Dog The Powers of Pain vs. Nikolia Volkoff & Boris Zuhkov "Brother Love Show" with Jim Duggan Ultimate Warrior vs. Honkytonk Man (Warrior wins WWF I-C Title) Dino Bravo vs. Don Muraco Demolition Axe & Smash vs. The Hart Foundation Big Bossman vs. Koko B. Ware Jake Roberts vs. Hercules Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Andre the Giant & Ted DiBiase (special referee Jesse Ventura) If God takes the Bossman, who wants to hijack his casket for giggles?
Guest Choken One Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 From That Card... KoKo Duggan and Axe are my picks for the next dead...
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Survivor Series 88 - Bulldog, Owen Hart (Blazer), (next four all on one team) Andre, Rude, Bravo, and Frankie. - Well, we've got a tie, though Liz was probably involved on this card in some form so Survivor Series 88 seems to be the winner. Harley Race is apparently next, as he was the final partner of the aforementioned four. Survivor Series 89 - Andre, Rude, Perfect Survivor Series 90 - Perfect, Kerry Von Erich, and Frankie.
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I picked Koko in the other thread. *sigh*
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 And incase you're all wondering, yes, Frankie the fucking bird counts as a WWF Superstar.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 From That Card... KoKo Duggan and Axe are my picks for the next dead... That's kind of morbid.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Then you need to add Damien to the list Damn Earthquake squashed him to hell
Guest Anglesault Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I still think Anvil's next. Anvil can't go until Taker ME's another PPV, most likely a May one. That, my friends, is the Hart Foundation Curse.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Now that we're counting pets, Matilda too.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Holy shit I never thought of that. Owen - Judgment Day Taker/Austin Bulldog - Jdgment Day Taker/Hogan Pillman - Badd Blood Taker/HBK
Guest Choken One Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Yep...That IS another aspect of the Curse... Actully...It was OVER THE EDGE....not Judgement Day for Owen...
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Oh yes my bad I forgot but it was the May PPV.
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Thankfully, Taker isn't main eventing and likely won't be until the FBI program is over. Although I have had this horrible realization that Brock/Taker III is inevitable ever since the Rumble.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Yah I could see it headlining Vengeance. Since I doubt the WWE will have enough ocnfidence for Benoit or Rhyno to ME and won/t waste angle/Brock 2.
Guest Choken One Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Yep...Vengence is primed for that Event...So Jim Anvil Neidhart B. Who Knows... D. July 27th 2003.
Guest JMFabiano524 Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 And incase you're all wondering, yes, Frankie the fucking bird counts as a WWF Superstar. Actually weren't there a couple of Frankies? (I remember in particular how he'd go from a blue and gold macaw to a scarlet one, especially between televised shows and house shows) And aren't those kind of birds supposed to have the lifespan of some humans?
Guest Choken One Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I just thought of something... It's gone in a Pattern...By Age... Brian was 1st-He was the youngest Owen was 2nd- He was 34 when he died. Bulldog was 3rd- He was older then Owen. That means...if that pattern is the way it goes...BRET not Neidhart is next...
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Just wodnerign how old are Bret & Neidhart? Bret I'm assuming around 45, what about anvil?
Guest Choken One Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Anvil HAS to be older then Bret...HAS to be...I pray I am wrong though...
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 So do I. And btw Owen was younger than Pillman I think. Both around 34-35 but I think Owen was younger.
Guest ViciousFish Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 If it changes anything Anvil seems alot more likely to do drugs than Bret.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Yah I doubt Bret's on drugs but Anvil wouldn't surprise me.
