Chazz 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Did anybody out there ever see Fox's "Murder In Small Town X"? when It originally aired from July 2001-Sept. 2001? It remains the only "Reality Show" ,Other than Seasons of MTV's Real World Boston and Seattle), that I actually got Into, even though The Series Itself was part Mystery part Reality Show. I hope Fox does another one In the near future. What do those of you that saw It think?
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 I never watched it, but I know the guy who won it was a firefighter who died in NYC on 9-11.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 4, 2003 I liked it alot. It was reality tv without the reality which is a good thing.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Speaking of faux reality TV shows. Movies(mainly direct to video horror) have been using reality tv as a plot device for years now. I'm waiting on a network to make a tv show using that Formula.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Satanico, you dig $la$her$ and Series 7?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Those were what I was referring to. I haven't actually seen them yet, but I've heard good things about them.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 4, 2003 That's one of the few shows like that I got in to. The acting was cheesy but it was pretty cool. I loved how they kept voting the one bitch out to go on missions over and over again and she kept coming back. Although Headline News or something like that spoiled the winner for me the day of the finalie, bastards.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted May 4, 2003 $lasher$ fucking ruled! I absolutely loved nearly everything about the film, and was surprised to hear it was done in $100,000 budget or something around that. The DVD is packed too. MTI put out Killer Cop a while back, which was a cop who gets his own reality show and has to deal with audiences finding him too boring so he starts being a corrupt cop. Blah. The Dirty Cop, No Donut film and its less than average sequel were great COPS spoofs. I'm trying to think of a few other DTV films that have used the reality TV plot, but nothing's coming to me right now.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted May 4, 2003 I loved Murder In Small Town X .... it's kinda wierd poetic irony that he wins and then goes out on a true mission and dies...
Guest starvenger Report post Posted May 4, 2003 The only thing I didn't like about MiSTX is that it that the "Killer's game" aspect could have been done better - it didn't really fit well into the "murder-mystery" aspect of the game. But then, I really only like the Amazing Race and Mole styles of elimination...
