Guest BDC Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Y'know, the shirt Goldberg wore the first night he showed up was nice. As were a handful of others. Some DDP shirts were designed specifically that if you didn't watch wrestling, you wouldn't have a clue. We need more of that. Even the Iron Cross HHH shirt wasn't really bad, 'cept for the back. Think of the white scorpian Sting shirt.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted May 4, 2003 I guess since I don't want to promote something that I don't like (WWE) we differ in this I wouldn't say I don't like WWE so much (although I'm learning some early WCW/late NWA out of boredom right now) as much as I just wish it would get better. I'm not expecting Cruiserweights to be taken seriously, since nobody in North America has made more than a mil here or there doing that, but I just want something that doesn't put me to sleep. Watching a younger Hogan exhibit Physics By Warner Brothers by winding up his arm before bopping a guy (which he sells like a cannon shot) is more fun that's what's going on right now. It's like there's this struggle right now between "Bring in more marks" and "Do some scientific stuff to cater to the smarks" and the result is using an Indian Deathlock in a fight over who's a necrophiliac with who. When wrestling was at its hottest you had people wearing 3:16 and NWO shirts. I remember not knowing what the heck that NWO thing I saw everywhere (including a TechTV host) was until I got into wrestling. Boy was that frustrating. Fans want to subtly show they are wrestling fans - and they cannot do that while earing 'It's true' in big bold lettering. I guess. WrestleMania weekend will probably be burned into my brain for the next 20 years or so, just because of the sheer coolness of walking into a food court in a wrestling shirt at a downtown mall and seeing four other random strangers in Brock/Taker/Austin/Rock/etc shirts. O_o That was just so... Weird. There have only been a handful of really good shirts in the past: the Hurricane 'H' and the Kaientai "Evil" shirts are the only ones that I can think of that I ever really showed interest in. Well, you want to be more discreet than I do, obviously. I don't like any big pictures of shirtless men on it, don't care for loud and unusual colors (see also: most Edge and Hurricane shirts), and don't like Russo-esque innuendo. However, being a "life of the party" type of guy when in the right mood, I can laugh off a shirt with a silly slogan like "I WILL MAKE YOU TAP OUT" (one of my favorites) "What?" or "Don't Be An Ass Clown." In other words: Good (although I hate the guy) Bad Good Bad Good Bad Granted, there are only a very few really good and really bad shirts. Most everything else falls somewhere in between. "Less is More' and Obscurity is the key. I guess. AndrewTS: F*** Goldberg, and his lousy t-shirt, too. Any reason why there's a great big empty spot on that one side? It looks like Fuck Goldberg's tattoo symbol but there's a big O in the middle. Is that supposed to be where he plants his head for a spear or something? It resembles a tattoo from the SD! Shut Your Mouth CAW tattoos section, so maybe another wrestler has a tattoo like that.
