Guest Longdogger_Pete Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 They're not exclusive on the site anymore. Why? Because I'm too lazy to do the write ups. What am I making exclusive, a bunch of numbers? This is the final appearance on the list for Dace Night and Sean Atlas as they graduate to mid-card obscurity in the SWF. Congrats guys #1. Christian Blackwell (up 7) #2. Crow (up 8) #3. Sean Atlas (down 2) #4. John Duran (up 10) #5. Dace Night (down 2) #6. "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins (up 7) #7. Charlie "Grappler" Matthews (new) #8. Viktor Tarakanov (new) #9. Manson (up 9) #10. "Dark Rebel" Terry Wayne (down 6) #11. Omega Storm (down 6) #12. "Picture Perfect" Aaron Carpenter (down 5) #13. Kaine (down 2) #14. Guest Aecas Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Ah well looks like I'm going to have to claw my way up from the bottom again then
Guest emerald_fusion Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Second last, looks like that as high as i'm going to get.
Guest Ace309 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 You know, Syndicate, the rankings ARE numerical. If I remember correctly, you weren't active for very long, so of course you'll have fewer points than the top guys. When you start in the middle of the month, even a single loss can just kill you. That's the only complaint I've ever had about the rankings - occasionally, they don't reflect the makeup of the league... but Pete's system is probably better than most.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Hey! I resent that Tom! Da "uses as few numbers as possible in doing his rankings for the WF" H
Guest Longdogger_Pete Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 My system is indeed a formulaic system... and it factors in your performance over the last two months (the most recent month is 2/3 of your score and the month before is 1/3). You gain 2 points (or more) for winning a match, but you lose 1 point for a loss, so a loss actually makes you 3 points away from where you want to be... and if you aren't in a lot of matches you aren't going to move up quite as quickly. All in all however, except for a few quirks here and there, I think my system has been pretty fair.
