Excess to become a wrestling show!

Recommended Posts

Guest Some Guy

I just watched Excess and it still sucks except for "From the Vault".  If they kept that segmant and added new wrestling matches and drooped the Coach and Terri as the hosts I'm all for it.  Heat used to be a good show until Smackdown killed it off.  I thought it would have been a good spot for ECW when they were thinking of doing a WWF, WCW, and possibly an ECW show.  Heat was also used very effectivly to promote PPVs, remeber when they would shoot main event angles right before the PPVs?  They should go back to that.  And the other 3 weeks a month should be used for mid-card guys to get 10 min matches on TV.

i've always wished that they had a show that JUST showed classic matches from wcw/wwf. not only would we get great matches but it would help get guys like booker t more over if casual fans saw his best of 7 matches against benoit

I have a feeling it will be like this....

Flair's Raw group will get Heat.  So, after Heat its "watch Raw!" and on Raw its "watch Heat to see these matches".

Vince's Smackdown group will get Excess (which I think will make more sense because if anyone is going to draw ratings on a Sat. night, its the bigger names that will be on Vince's SE half).  However, the only thing I don't like about this is that Heat and Excess together add up to 3 hours....so one side will end up with more time.  Who do you ask...Vince of course.

If Vince gets Excess, then it finallys ends the BIG question....Flair gets Jakked/Metal. :)

The problem with that is that not everyone sees Heat right before the PPV.  It's only live for people in the Eastern and Central time zones.  People in the Mountain and Pacific time zones (excluding those that have satellite dishes) get Heat while the PPV is going on.  So for about half of the country, adding anything to the PPV during Heat is pointless.  It's a nice idea, but only if Heat becomes a live show for everyone.

Anyway, if this is true, I'm glad.  I'd like to see them even out Heat and Excess so both shows get the same amount of time.  Either make Excess an hour shorter or Heat an hour longer (preferably the latter).  If they have some desperate need for recap shows they still have Jakked and Metal.

And if Flair gets Jakked/Metal...

I think its a safe bet that he drafts Saturn

They should do it like this: one side gets Heat, and one gets Jakked/Metal, since these will both be taped before each of the big shows. They also tape ~30 mins of stuff each for Excess, and then the other hour of Excess can be recap stuff, since it would be good to have a show that ties them both together and lets people keep up to date on whats happening.

I'm in the Eastern Time zone so it would be better for me. :)  But seriously if half the country doesn't see Heat because it's on during the PPV, wouldn't it make sense to improve the show in order to make up for the lost viewers?  They used to just show a short recap at teh begining of the PPV and so everyone knows what happened anyway.

Music to my ears guys. Terri was a decent host, I hoep they keep here doing something. I think a good idea if they want the show have equal time is if they split the two hours up and use one for recap and one for new wrestling.

The problem with this split, as with the nWo and InVasion angles before it, is that nobody at WWFE has a clue what they are going to do.
