Guest Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I have heard alot of talk about you guys wanting Shammy possibly coming in for the draft. I just want to know if he is still udner contract? I never read that the WWF released him from it and he's been away for a long ass time. Also does any body know if there is a schedule on the web for his indy bookings? I heard he is doing a show next week in my area but I can't find anything about it. If I knew where he was booked I could find out something I think.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 24, 2002 the rumour I've heard is he wants a light schedule and to maybe do two shoots a year. He was at WM angling for this. But apparently the WWF isn't happy about the schedule and Ken ain't budging. Oh and he's dating his storyline sister.
Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Oh and he's dating his storyline sister. Wow, where'd you here that? Hey, I thought of something fun ... which do you think is more unsettling, if you had to pick one? A) Someone's in a movie where their sister plays their ex-girlfriend (no kissing or sex scenes) Or: B) Someone's dating the woman who portrayed his sister in a few movies So? What if there was kissing and/or sex scenes in the first choice?
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Did option A happen in High Fidelity? Was Joan Cusack playing John Cusack's ex? What about on TV daddy's giving his daughter away in marriage and he totally checks out her tits. David Lynch wouldn't put that in a movie.
Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I never saw the movie, but a quick imdb.com search showed that Joan played "Liz" in the movie. I'd pick the first choice, by the way, even with no sex or kissing scenes I don't think Vince checked out her tits the whole time. It looked that way (he even acknowledged it), but I just think he stole a furtive glance or two. I still believe he's had a few lustful thoughts of Steph pass through his head once in a blue moon. I'd go as far as guessing he's even had one or two dreams that involved here in an unsavory manner. Although, I do think he's gets disgusted with himself when those things happen. Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Option B has happened plenty of times. I'm pretty sure that in teen soaps it happens all the time. Grosse point did a story where one guy was dating his storyline girlfriends mum and she came onto him to break them up. As long as the actors can seperate reality either options okay. Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted March 24, 2002 That was great show. Shame it got canned.
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I think Shamrock somewhat owes them as they did a favor for him getting him out of his contract so he could fight. I'm not really solidly in favor of Shamrock coming in unless we get Angle vs. Shamrock.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Grosse Pointe was awesome...I thought I was the only person here who watched it. It was the best "teen comedy" show on the WB, mainly because it satired the other shows pretty mercilessly. Anyway, this reminds me of 80s porn stars Amber Lynn and Buck Adams, who were real-life siblings. I read somewhere that directors kept trying to get them to do a scene together, but they refused. Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Shamrock may be coming back. He got a mention on WWF.com when they were talking about who was backstage, so that's a good sign. And with the WWF roster so crowded, I don't see them giving in to his lighter schedule request.
Guest buffybeast Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Shamrock left his wife and four kids for Ryan Shamrock. I remember reading that back in 98 or 99. Shamrock's days in pro wrestling are over. He left the company at the height of his career and Angle has essentially taken his gimmick. WWF.com also mentioned that Shammy doesn't have the size he had in 1998, the last time we saw him. Plus, WWF is different now and has so much talent that Ken Shamrock really isn't needed. He royally screwed himself by leaving to begin with.
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 i think Angle would kick Shamrocks ass legit in a real fight. somethin i'd like to see...
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 No way......I think Shammy would murder Angle.
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I don't know if I'm in the minority on this one, but I liked Shamrock vs. Owen Hart in the Lion's Den Match at Summerslam 98 (?) They both looked really good and the gimmick was definitely different. Of course, Owen made everyone look good and he is my favourite wrestler, so I might be biased. And before anyone says anything, I'm not a bandwagon fan since he passed away. I thought Owen rocked when he first came in as the Blue Blazer. He was the first guy I saw who really took to the air. And that running belly-to-belly was just light years ahead of everyone. And then years later, when Owen redebuted with Neidhart and I saw him do that springboard off the top rope out of an armbar, I knew they were the same guy. I still wonder with deepest regret what kind of impact he would have had today with guys like Benoit and Angle working now. Or how him being alive might have prevented the Hart family from imploding. Or how Bret may just have said yes to coming back at this year's WM. RIP King of Harts
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 What was the running belly to belly? And how the hell do you spring-board out of an armbar?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I would love to see Shamrock back in the WWF. He was always a hell of a worker, not much of a talker, but his shoot style of wrestling could get him over once again.
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 25, 2002 What was the running belly to belly? And how the hell do you spring-board out of an armbar? Okay... Owen would whip someone into the ropes, and then on the return, he would catch them mid-run and do a belly-to-belly, using most of their own momentum. He did this throughout his career, so any match he's in would most likely feature it. The Rock does a piss-poor version of it which he stole from Owen along with the dragon-screw legwhip and the sharpshooter (but that's neither here nor there...) As for the springboard, say Triple H is twisting Owen's wrist by the hand, with both in a standing position. Owen runs to the ropes (not the corner), walks up each one 'til he gets to the top, jumps straight up, lands his BUTT on the top rope, then flips over, thus reversing the wristlock, and possibly following it up by kicking HHH in his face (ahhh, dare to dream...). If I said armbar, I meant wristlock. And I'm probably not doing the move any justice with my lack of erudition. Anyway, go find old Superstars tapes and I'm sure it's in there somewhere.
