Just to take this new "image" of hers a step further, just check out the songs on her new album...

12) U & Me = Love

Man when Jewel is ripping off 2gether, you know it's at least a semi-parody. Of course the MTV watching sheep won't get it.

mmm, 2ge+her . . . how I miss them.

And Bob, yeah it's her body and she can do what she wants. But when I can pop in Pieces of You and be moved emotionally by her music there, and then look at the song list DH posted and be reminded of an MTV comedy that made fun of boy bands . . . I'm disgusted. It's my opinion and I have a right to apply it however I wish.

She's finally sold out, it seems. And regardless of what music elitists will spout off, it means the loss of someone who used to apparently be fairly genuine and heartfelt in her music. And the loss of a female artist who, you know, actually plugged some of her emotion into playing music on instruments.

let me say two things.

First, that whole little "message by an MTV caller" who says that Jewel sounds much better now that she's dancing is part of the video. It's intentional.

With titles like that, she HAS to be joking, poking fun at pop music. But, I don't think everyone will get it.

A VERY thin line is all I'll say. Still haven't heard the music, which is the deciding vote.

I actually don't mind "Intuition", right now. I will in 2 weeks after I hear it 10 billion times.

You haven't heard the album yet- you've basically heard one song, read some titles and seen a video where you get nice shots of her tits. She's having fun with her image and her music- She's probably bored of playing the same folk songs over and over and wants to branch out. You should be applauding her for trying to do something different musically. If it doesn't work it doesn't work- but at least Jewel is doing something with her music.

I'm disgusted. It's my opinion and I have a right to apply it however I wish.

You're disgusted that Jewel feels confident enough in her abilities as a musican and her body that she's willing to change her style and poke fun at herself? Jewel is trying something new with herself- if it bombs it bombs. I also have the right to say your opinion is misguided and your being way too harsh on Jewel.

She's finally sold out, it seems.

How so?

And regardless of what music elitists will spout off, it means the loss of someone who used to apparently be fairly genuine and heartfelt in her music.

No it doesn't- It means you have someone who is poking fun at their image and releasing an album that will try to reel in some new fans while hopefully appeal to the fans of old. If she didn't want to be all genuine and heartfelt- she wouldn't do the album. Just because she isn't yelling: DREAMS LAST SO LONG doesn't mean she still doesn't have feelings for her music.

And the loss of a female artist who, you know, actually plugged some of her emotion into playing music on instruments.

Listen to the album. I don't see why you have a problem with Jewel having fun with herself. She's successful enough so that she can do it and I think it's great she's willing to change her style.

And show off her boobs more

The video makes me jizz.

I now love Jewel.

But the beginning is a blatant Shakira rip.

1) I've heard the MAJORITY of her new album, and from what I've heard so far, it's WAY more mainstream pop than I've ever heard from her before.

2) While it's obviously a TYPE of parody, and Jewel will admit it, she has also said that she's using this to create a new mainstream image of herself, both in looks and musicly. It may be a parody, but from what I've heard her say, it's what she want's to try for REAL at this time.

So Jewel is trying to be like Sheryl Crow? To bad all of the piano playing girls are getting the singer/songwriter heat now, poor Jewel.
