e-Wrestling Fed Needs New Members

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just wanted to put a post out about a "real wrestler eFed" that has been around for quite some time (since 96). The GPWA is looking for new and experienced roleplayer's to join up.

Check out http://theinstigator.com/gpwa/ for more info. Please note that a good understanding of spelling and grammer is a must when participating in this league. ;)

Here's a little background on the fed...

About the GPWA

Established in July of 1996, the GPWA has proven that an E-Fed that uses "real wrestlers" (ie: not fantasy, made up wrestlers) can survive! Many members have come and gone in the GPWA, and a lot have stuck around for the long haul - which clearly says something about the staying power that we have.

People don't come to us just to win "fantasy" matches. They come to us because of the high quality of effort that goes into making the GPWA a great league. This can be said for both staff and members. Winning isn't everything.

While winning isn't everything - it is important on another level. There are many factors that do go into deciding who wins what match. The majority of our matches have random outcomes courtesy of TNM. However, many of the big angles (including any angle involving the GPWA World Heavywight Championship) are 'booked.' That is, the course of the angle (it's story line) is determined ahead of time (or as we go along) by all those involved.

How do you get to the GPWA World Heavyweight Championship? Well, depending on how much TNM likes you in the lower card matches - you'll have to win enough of those to graduate to mid-card status. Mid-card status is actually the most important point in a GPWA Superstars' career. It is essential to show that you want to get to the main events. You can do this by writing exceptional role-plays, coming up with great angles, and basically just participating in the GPWA as a whole. Once you've graduated from the mid-card, you'll be set for your 'push.' Pushes are always discussed with the GPWA Executive Committee and the controller involved. Depending on how well your push works out, it could lead you right to the main event. On the other hand, it might not work out. It all depends on how you carry the ball. We just make the matches, it's your job to shine in them and in between them.

Our History

In 1996 the wrestling world was in a shambles. The "big three" were all bankrupt and there was no relief in sight. That is, until an unknown promoter swooped in and saved the day. "The Instigator" was the name that he went by. Instigator came in and bought all three promotions, amalgamating them into the Global Pro Wrestling Alliance -- aka THE GPWA.

Throughout the years the GPWA has gone through several President's, CEO's and even Owner's. Vince McMahon. Shane McMahon. Ted DiBiase. Frank Black. Paul Heyman. Most of these men were crooked corporate suits in it for the money and the fame. But today, the GPWA focuses on the talent of our athletic superstars.

In January 2002, then GPWA Owner Vince McMahon was suspended from his duties as CEO of the organization due to poor performance. Paul Heyman was brought in to turn things around and has taken the GPWA to great new heights. After eliminating a few titles, working out most of the problems that plagued the GPWA and increasing the ratings, Heyman was hired on full-time permanent as the CEO of the GPWA. Vince McMahon was soon bought out as the sole owner of the GPWA and the company is currently enjoying success on the market as a publicly traded commodity.

In January 2003, rumors were flying that the GPWA roster would be split into two separate entities. It wasn't until March 2003 that the rumors were confirmed as fact. Beginning in May 2003, the GPWA began running two separate rosters. Anarchy emanating out of the GPWA Dome in Los Angeles on the west coas. CHAOS!, on the east coast, coming out of the GPWA Centre in Toronto. The roster split has proven to be an innovative way to revive the GPWA and the wrestling business as a whole. It has created several new superstars and boosted ratings and merchandise sales through the roof.

Established in 1996 the Global Pro Wrestling Alliance (NYSE: GPWA) is an integrated sports, media and entertainment company headquartered in Toronto, ON., with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Berlin and London.
