Gert T 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2003 I know there have been many Bobby Heenan threads, but I don't know if he has been any better than at Royal Rumble 92. His comments are the only thing that prevents the FF button during the Bushwhacker match. And of course it is safe to say that the commentary during the Rumble match was lengendary. Any other PPV's where he was on his game the whole show?
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 9, 2003 WM 8 for sure....
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted May 9, 2003 He was really on through most of late '91-'93 with the Flair storyline to play off of. There were old Prime Time wrestling shows where he was like Robin Williams on crack the whole time. I've been wanted to find some vignettes from there and episodes of the Bobby Heenan show. I enjoy his commentary at the first Uncensored, probably his best in WCW. He realized how stupid all the matches were and really got in some zingers.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted May 9, 2003 I don't know if any of you guys have ever seen the countdown to WM 8, but Heenan is gold. Him and Monsoon were doing classic stuff the whole show.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted May 10, 2003 Hennan/Gorilla's commentary for Tatanka/Martel is fucking PRICELESS. Not because of the match, but about Flair losing the title. Just classic stuff.

Just classic stuff. No doubt! I think Monsoon even called Rick Martel, The Model Ric Flair twice by mistake they were so wound up with the previous match. Oh yeah, the comments during the Brunzell-Flair match was great!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 10, 2003 I thought his last show (Series 1993) was great...Did he know he was leaving at the time?
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted May 10, 2003 For some reason I remember Gorilla Monsoon kicking him out of Monday Night Raw and throwing a roll of toilet paper at him outside the arena.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2003 Ya Heenan's last ever appearance was in December when Gorilla kicked him out. Then Heenan's briefcase spilt revealing endless roles of toilet paper. Summerslam 1992 Heenan is gold. During Savage/Warrior and even moreso during Hart/Bulldog. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 10, 2003 I remember that...How did that go about? Wasn't Heenan just sitting there and suddenly he was escorted out with his briefcase... I thought there was some sort of Heenan must leave WWF if that guy wins...

Funny story about that. Heenan says that Pat Patterson suggested that women's lingirie fall out of the suitcase, and Bobby told him "I think you and I pack different, Pat." Don't ask why, but I find the "And this is another match, where I could care less who wins!" comment hysterical. I'm sure Vince felt that was a nice thing to say about the Main Event of a very important ppv. That was what was great about The Brain. He didn't slip into "WWF Mode". He was just being The Brain 24/7.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2003 And his classic: "British Bulldog has thrown so much at Bret Hart that nobody could ever kick out of it except one person...Ric Flair ofcourse"
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted May 10, 2003 "That's a heckuva robe on Flair. If you're gonna be fair to Flair, you gotta be fair and say only a man as fair as Flair would come to WrestleMania an wear a robe..." "WILL YOU STOP!!!!!"

Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted May 11, 2003 I still mark out for whenever Monsoon yells at Heenan for saying something stupid and Heenan's only response is, "Ya talkin' to ME?!?"
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Report post Posted May 11, 2003 From Rumble 92 to Summerslam 92, Brain was the greatest colour commentator there will ever be.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 11, 2003 Heenan was just amazing...He could work with ANYONE. I still think Ventura was better overall but Heenan is a god among men.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2003 As a commentator Ventura is the best ever. Period. But for humor no one touches Heenan. Nothing's funnier than some of Hart family jokes he makes at Summerslam & Survivor Series 1993.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted May 11, 2003 I forget what tape, but Shawn Michaels had a match on Coliseum Video and when Shawn was walking down the aisle, Bobby started whistling along to "Sexy Boy", and all of a sudden you hear Macho Man smack the shit out of him and Bobby start to choke.... "He broke my whistle!" funny shit
Guest Mole Report post Posted May 14, 2003 The Brain was the man, too bad he doesn't work anymore. He was one of the good things on Thunder, even though he wasn't at his A game then.
