I'm looking over the njpw.com website, which I *think* is relativley new, and I'm just wondering if anyone here knows the backstory as to why it's being started and updated so frequently? I know they want to attract people to the dojo, and that's probably one reason, but is there any word about some kind of American expansion? i.e. Running shows, getting PPV/TV coverage here, or at least selling official American DVDs/tapes of upcoming events? I dunno, it seems like when they make an official USA website there'd be a reason why.

I think that most of the puro companys realize that only conserning them selves with japan is no longer an option. They have just about exausted the resources in japan of native wrestlers and audience. so it is either expand or slowly die. The obvious place to expand to is the americas. Either usa for traditional puro companies and mexico for the lucharesu companies.

It can be seen in the number of gaijins working for puro companys. also a sizeable number of companys have started to do cross promotional talent exchanges so that they get new blood into their promotion and their talent gets known in the u.s.a.. So that when they decide to run an usa show that they have built in draws.

If you look at the diffrent companies a lot of them work hand in hand with us companies for example. all japan with mlw, zero one with pwf and roh for their usa show, toryumon with their mexican counterparts t2p and toryumon x. also in the past bij japan with czw.

The website is for the LA Dojo, a training facility run by NJPW, not for NJPW itself. The LA Dojo does run shows, I think, with guys like Pinoi Boy who have appeared in NJPW from time to time. Either way, the site is set up by the LA Dojo, not NJPW.

NJ are looking to expand to the USA, they want to use Barnett as one of the guys to help them do it.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, almost all puro promotions are permanently saying that they want to expand into the USA. It's part of the whole obsession for the west that Japan has, but in real terms, it's very unlikely to happen. I mean, if another federation with American's can't become competition for WWE, how are a bunch of japanese guys who American's can't understand and who wrestle completely differently going to get over?

Inoki Dojo doesn't run shows. It's just a training facility for people to come over and learn some shoot fighting stuff, amongst other things.

The NJPW.com is NOT just an Inoki Dojo web site, as it has bios for nearly everybody in New Japan, and has results and news concerning Shin Nihon, not just Inoki Dojo.
