Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 12, 2003 And WRX's I heard run about $24,000 so don't believe the hype about the $15,000. No one said WRX's were $15,000. When I mentioned them I listed it as a $30,000 car. Trucks are only good if it's a factory performance truck like a Ford Lightning or a shaved and slammed "sport truck". Well hardcore rock crawlers or mudrunners aren't bad either, but they aren't fit for road use. As for Mustangs and Camaro's, the new models are ugly as shit. The 80's models were ugly as shit. The last decent looking Camaro was the 1981 model of the second generation. The last decent looking Mustang was the 1970 odel of the first generation. Sure the Cobra, Saleen and the SS are nice cars, but they're still ugly.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Whoa now, let's not go nuts. Sure the 80s Mustangs weren't that great looking (the Camaros looked MUCH better), but I'll put the design of the 94-98s against just about anything. I think C4 Corvettes look really good too, but the C5s look like they've got tumors and stuff. If you're going to replicate the Stingray design, go all out and not have weird rounded wheel wells. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 12, 2003 94-98s were alright i guess, just kinda bland looking. I always found that model cheap looking for some reason. The next Mustang will look alot better, as long as they stay true to the prototypes floating around the new car show circuit. Hopefully they don't cut corners and make it overly simple looking. Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I hope the Corvette ends up not looking like the concept. Did you see in Motor Trend or whatever magazine where they proposed a new Chevelle SS that looked AWFUL?

Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I hated Chevelles in the first place, ugly looking cars, a rolling box on wheels, expect for the SS 454 Chevelle..I thought the whole line of Chevelle's were awful. I'm buying a 1995 Eclipse if it's at the dealer I looked at. I'm buying it tomorrow..big plans for that car.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 16, 2003 (edited) Any of you guys see that Chevy Concept car called SS? That's probably the best looking design Chevolete has had in awhile. It's rear wheel drive and it has 4 doors like the new Mazda Rx-8 where two are hidden like the rear doors on extended truck. Hopefully they model the replacement for the Camaro/Firebird after it. IT would bring back the spirit of the originals which were coupes. Here are some pictures... The front... I don't care for the grill, but remove the bar and put in a nice billet grill insert and it would be fine. The rear... I couldn't find pictures of it in person, so these renderings will have to do. Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Yeah, that SS is supposed to be something if they actually produce it. I'm really disliking a lot of the concept pictures I see of cars lately (with the exception of the Mustang of course, mostly because it brings back so many Shelby styling cues), but they're all supposed to perform like a motherfucker, so whatever. Isn't the SS supposed to put out almost as much or as much as a Z06 does now?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 16, 2003 I'm not sure about the power, but I'm sure it will be good. What's with this rebirth of the power wars? Mercedes and BMW have been in a power war for a few years now, but it seems like an industry trend now. I guess it's because they can now build hot rodded moters that are still civilized. See even those who hate anything they see as "rice powered" should be thanking the imports. They helped to bring back the factory power war trend.
Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 16, 2003 My eclipse isn't that bad, I can do big burnouts in 1st gear. I want to add new headers, cat, exhaust, pulleys, cam gears and maybe..a turbocharger. The SS concept looks too much like the RX-8 to me..just..wider, personally..those taillights don't suit the car at all, maybe a solid pair of taillights. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 16, 2003 The drawing makes it look like a rx-8 more than the actual car looks like one(did that make sense). Also the tail lights look alot better on the real car. They're still four single lights, but they don't look like they were donated by a Ferrari. They fit the car alot better on the real one. We might want to thank the Germans specifically, not the Asian automakers. Their engineers found ways to produce more power with less emissions and smaller engines. It feels so great to be in the middle of another muscle car era.

Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 17, 2003 yah, but I would kill to find a wrecked GS-T(hit from the side or back) pay the money and yank out the tranny/engine for my RS Eclipse, then add on some new parts, new turbo and BAM!. Nice engine. Trucks aren't bad really..I just like one truck.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 17, 2003 I'd love a new Ram myself. Of course, any car I touch immediately starts having problems (namely coolant system problems), so I'm about to advise that my family just buy me a scooter or something.
