Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted May 9, 2003 (edited) http://mypage.bluewin.ch/auslander/SnakeEater.wmv I personally think it would be hard as hell to fake this, but I'm not completely convinced it's real. EDIT: I got this from (::shudders:) gamefaqs forums. Edited May 10, 2003 by Angle-plex
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Gamers.net has an article about it as well. Since some unscrupulous fellow has gone and leaked the E3 trailer in advance of its official showing, it appears we may confirm that the official title of the next Metal Gear game is Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. In the new movie, we see Solid Snake returning to his roots somewhat, fighting in a jungle environment with amazing water and fire effects. We'll have much, much more to say on the subject at E3 next week, of course. Expect to be properly inundated soon.
Guest Memphis Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Looks pretty fucking real to me. If this is fake, the guy who did it has some skills.
Guest Memphis Report post Posted May 10, 2003 So it's official A-P? I've beaten MGS2 so many damn times and I'm in desperate need of a new Metal Gear. I mark the fuck out for the Metal Gear theme playing on this clip. M
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted May 10, 2003 Eh, I'll wait until E3, where we'll get it from the source. Hopefully Raiden got even MORE pussywhipped by Rose and she didn't let him go on anymore dangerous missions.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted May 10, 2003 I wouldn't say it's official yet, and even if it IS the trailer Kojima is releasing at E3, that doesn't mean it's real either, since Kojima screwed with us with the MGS2 trailer. "Snake Eater" sounds like a kind of lame title though.
Guest Memphis Report post Posted May 10, 2003 Well I heard, quite sometime ago, the new MGS game was to be called 'The Patriots'. And, just out of curiousity, what was the original MGS2 trailer that gave everyone the wrong impression? M
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted May 10, 2003 It pretty much focused on the first part of the game (the tanker) and didn't mention Raiden at all. It even had Snake fighting Fortune in the Big Shell.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted May 10, 2003 Hopefully Raiden got even MORE pussywhipped by Rose and she didn't let him go on anymore dangerous missions. Indeed. The trailer looks pretty cool, especially the water effects and stuff, but I'm still skeptical. Snake looked even younger than he did in MGS2, and the trailer is a bit short. I'm still waiting for definite confirmation before I get hyped up for it. EDIT~: IGN has an article now: Today has been an interesting time in the videogame world, as earlier in the afternoon a mysterious video appeared on the Internet revealing the yet-to-be-shown action/adventure from Konami -- Metal Gear Solid 3. Apparently entitled "Snake Eater", the MGS3 movie file appeared to be a snippet from a larger film that shows our main man Solid Snake chomping on the remains of a dead Sonora semiannulata before picking up his gun Rambo-style and mowing down a couple of bad guys. Where the video came from is still somewhat of a mystery, as the original source was credited to the personal webspace of a German-speaking Deep Throat who posted the file to an obscure Chinese server. No other details are known at this time and Konami of America could not be reached for comment. Want to see the video yourself? Then click on our media page below for low-res and high-res versions of it and get a sneak peek at what will probably be unveiled in its entirety at the official Konami E3 press conference on the 13th. Stay tuned for more.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted May 10, 2003 Watching that, I could do nothing but laugh hysterically. I wouldn't mind playing two different characters again if they were balanced intstead of 10%-90% like MGS2. Not playing Snake was kind of cool becuase you saw what a badass he was when he isn't being controlled by a fat twenty-something loser with a controller. My guess is that it's a remake of Metal Gear since Snake looks younger. I would much prefer Zanzibar over Arsenal Gear or whatever.
