REAL Match of the Decade

The Foley/Funk match happened in the middle of the Dude Love/Austin feud. After Unforgiven Foley vowed to not wear the Dude Love outfit again after Vince gave a title shot to Goldust. Dude got pissed and Vince said to prove himself he should rip Terry Funk's heart out. Foley and Funk had an awesome match while Austin did commentary. After the match Foley attacked Austin and went back to Vince and reclaimed the Dude outfit showing that he was still in Vince's camp.

 

After that came the suit wearing, false teeth wearing Dude.

 

I think that's how it went down.

I remember that--including a Funk moonsault off the balcony onto Cactus!

 

How you people so easily call this to memory I don't get.

I find Owen/Bulldog vs Austin/Shawn better than the quad tag match, which I consider a bit overrated.

 

My personal 2 favorites are Flair/Perfect and Bret/Kid.

HHH vs. Cactus Jack at MSG was a pretty good match. Seeing HHH's reaction when Cactus came out was priceless.

 

Angle vs. Austin from Jan. 2001 in San Jose is one of my favorites. The finish sort of sucked but the match itself was one of the best.

Michaels/Jannetty from 93 (Jannetty wins the title)

 

Bret/Hakushi from July 95

 

Bret/Jean Pierre Lafete from October 95 (Pretty obscure match, but I loved it)

 

HBK/Owen from 95

 

Cactus/HHH from 97

 

That's all I can think of, if only because I haven't seen the RVD/Eddie ladder match

I would need to watch that Bulldog/Owen/Austin/Shawn match again I guess. I saw it 6 years ago and haven't seen it since. My original reaction (being a huge Bulldog mark) to the match was "that sucked" since Davey got pinned.

Maybe it was just emotion and good booking, but I really liked the HHH-Rock match when Test first debuted.

TLC4 is weak compared to the other three matches. It just was lacking something that the other three had.

The fact that Kane, whoes much more talented cruiserweight partner was takne out before the match started, and who himself layed around for half of the match after going through a table, WON THE MATCH BY HIMSELF, just ruins it. And I LIKE Kane! There was NO reason to take Helms out of the match.

Actually, there was. Helms didnt want to compete because he feels ladder matches set a bad example to the kids. Or something.

Well, he did an interview not too long ago, with a UK newpaper, saying he did want to be in the TLC match, so yeah.
