Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 24, 2002 RVD was on the No Holds Barred radio show on March 16th, and he had something interesting to say about the Van Terminator. He said that his reason for not using it in the WWF because Shane was able to pull it off and that many people think that he is the only one to ever execute the move. He said he has the move on the back burner right now and hasn't felt it was something he needed to use at this time. I dunno why I found that so interesting, but I thought I'd pass it along to all of you guys, so, there ya go, lol. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I'm glad. The move sucks. Same with the Van Daminator. He should just continue to use the Frog Splash.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Yeah, it's a useless move.
Guest Maurizio C... Version 2 Report post Posted March 24, 2002 the van terminator is a good move if executed sporadically and in "special" fashion. example: let's say it's rvd and Edge vs Booker and test. At one point test is being beaten by edge near the turnbuckle. Test goes down in stinkface position, but then booker puts edge out. at that point rvd is on the turnbuckle, sees test and executes the van terminator. that's the way to do it! Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted March 24, 2002 1. It's a retarded move. 2. It doesn't make sense outside of a hardcore setting. While the VanDaminator is often used to counter his opponent bringing in a chair, the VT requires a chair to be set up already on his opponent. Given the amount of time Rob wastes in doing the spot, the referee would either move the chair, DQ him, or be lying on the mat due to a ref bumb. 3. It's a stupid spot for a face to use, particularly the way RVD did it in ECW with his dumb manager holding the chair in place. People complain (rightly so) about Lita interfering in all the Hardyz matches, well this is no different.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Yeah, it would be great to see him bust it out only once in a while, as kind of a "shout-out" to the ECW fans. But it shouldn't be done too often.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Any move that needs a weapon sucks with very few exceptions (The Conchairto). Any move that requires the opponent to set up the move himself (ex. Van Daminator) really, really sucks.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Wouldn't the move end up hurting RVD more than his opponent anyways? He's flying halfway across the ring just to land on the hard mat. And it takes forever to set up.
Guest WWF4Life Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I seriously doubt anybody in the WWF would actually take the move anyway, especially main eventers. Believe it or not, but the move hurts.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 24, 2002 Like has been said if he has to do it save it for a big match here and there and use it in no dq match. That being said i never liked the move. I think the main reason why he will hardly ever use it if ever is because it would be easy to accidentl injure someone. When he did it in ECW i knew right then that sooner or later someone would get hurt with it.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I love how Hogan Made Wrestling immediatly calls any move that Hogan can't do retarded. The move may have no place in a non-ECW match...but come on now. It surely doesn't suck. 1. It's a retarded move. I just told you that it wasn't...so stop. And we all know that ref bumps are non existent in the WWF. 3. It's a stupid spot for a face to use, particularly the way RVD did it in ECW with his dumb manager holding the chair in place. People complain (rightly so) about Lita interfering in all the Hardyz matches, well this is no different. Um...when the crowd goes all ape shit for a move, and the person who performed it...that's a GOOD move for a face. Anything that gets a performer cheered is a GOOD move for a face. Lita and the Hardys have gotten booed for cheating (Check out the Rumble 2002 when they jump on Taker after being eliminated)...Do you seriously thikn that RVD would get booed for doing the Van-terminator? Or anyone would care who is holding the chair when a guy is flying accross the ring? If Hogan could do it...you'd love it. Then again...If Hogan could get to the top rope...I would love it. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 25, 2002 If Benoit did it, it would still be a horrible move.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Yawn...the RVD mark once again has no argument and resorts to petty little insults. "I just told you that it wasn't...so stop." Ahh right, the gospel of Bps the little RVD mark that can't take any opinions that differ from his own. Well I tell you this: RVD sucks, so stop acting like he doesn't. "Lita and the Hardys have gotten booed for cheating (Check out the Rumble 2002 when they jump on Taker after being eliminated)...Do you seriously thikn that RVD would get booed for doing the Van-terminator? Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 25, 2002 The move if spectacular to watch and very few can actually pull it off. It does take a long time to set up but so do many table spots. If I were him I wouldn't even bother doing it until I was in a ME feud. Why risk injuring himself or a midcarder in a IC or Hardcore title match? He doesn't need that heat back. Plus I think that Angle is the only ME level guy who would take the move. Do you ever think that Austin, Taker, or HHH would ever lie in the corner for that long to have a guy kick a chair into their face from 18ft? I don't. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 so what if I am an RVD mark... Your comments were made because you are an ANTI-RVD mark. So stop being hypocritical and don't blast a move he hasn't done since January of 2001. And as for the Van Daminator...he's done exactly 1 since fucking October of last year. Enough already. The guy got super over with nothing but his in ring work...and stays over despite not doing 2 of his most exciting moves. Re Spect. or just Walk.

Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Blarg, moves that involve chairs getting smashed into faces are guess what..dangerous. About the Van Terminator. A chair has a very different make-up than does a trash can. By the way, both moves kick ass. Just thought I should throw my two cents in.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 25, 2002 If RVD did it without the chair, I wouldn't complain. But the Hardcore style is so played out by now.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I think the reason he stopped using the Vandaminator was not cause he thought it sucked but becuase he was busting people open hardway every show.
Guest Risk Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'm an RVD mark but...as long as he does the Van Daminator and ***** Frog Splash, I'm happy. It isn't worth arguing over.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Shane looked like a fat kid coming off the diving board when he did it. I'd mark for it done properly
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I guess that I'm in the minority here. I "marked" little a school girl the first time I saw him bust it out on Scotty Anton in ECW. I also got pissed seeing Shane McMahon steal RVD's move. I liked the idea behind it. A wrestler can jump the length of the ring to do his finisher. I can look past Bill Alfonso holding the chair, or RVD taunting to the crowd before the springboard. It didn't bother me any, because to me it is still just a show. Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Shane looked like an idiot when he did it,put he pulled it off, barely RVD should break this out when he is in a big feud with someone,do it,win and that would be the big end to that feud and for that hogan guy.... RVD RULEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'm sure he'll do it at some point. Hopefully to Hogan.
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 That is so fucked up. Shane The Bitch steal RVD's own move and now RVD can't do it because they want to make Shane look like the only one that can do it. I'm sure more than Shane and RVD can do it too, just thet didn't out of respect for RVD creating the move.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 25, 2002 >That is so fucked up. Shane The Bitch steal RVD's own move and now RVD can't do it because they want to make Shane look like the only one that can do it. That IS kinda fucked up, but I think that RVD is doing just fine without it. And wrt the Van Daminator, I like the fact that he's using it less. In ECW it almost seemed like it was a real crutch for him to use it. Now, it only gets busted out every once in a while, and it makes the move seem just a little more special. Guest notJames Report post Posted March 25, 2002 RVD has tweaked his ring style so much that he doesn't need the Van Terminator (a move that really didn't impress me to begin with). Back in ECW, Mr. Stall-All-Night irked me with his standing around and setting up contrived spots (much like a lot of the ECW wrestlers) but I tolerated it because when done right, his moves were crisp and enjoyable. Now that he's gotten rid of the stalling and has a better grasp of timing his moves and having them make sense, he's easily 100X better than he was. And using the Van Terminator in anything less than an ideal setting (whoever mentioned having him doing it ina tag situation had the right idea) would just harken back to his pre-Fed days. He's superb the way he is now. And as I've said before, if you have the means to go forward, don't look back. $0.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Okay, I'm a HYUGE RVD mark, but the Van Teminator is WAY contrived. I kinda like the Van Daminator, but it too, is kinda contrived. However, when RVD used it on Jeff Hardy at InVasion, the Van Daminator made sense. But RVD doesn't wrestle Hardcore matches very often anymore, and using either move in the context of a regular match is dumb, so he doesn't need either move anymore. Kahran Ramsus was right, the Five-Star is just fine.
