Guest The Man They Call Texas Blu Posted March 24, 2002 Report Posted March 24, 2002 After 4 years WWF attitude, it seems the WWF is giving up its Attitude. The split will put an end to the "Attitude" era and give way for a new era. What do you think the best part about it was?
Guest AM The Kid Posted March 24, 2002 Report Posted March 24, 2002 I liked the very beginning with the USA-Canada wars. DX was so brash and the Hart Foundation just wanted their damn respect! ARG! lol
Guest nWoScorpion Posted March 24, 2002 Report Posted March 24, 2002 ONLY reason WWF pulled ahea dof WCW. Austin/Mcmahon Wars. WITH AN S.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 I voted for Austin/McMahon. The "Attitude" era was a monstor. I saw so many Austin, D-X & The Rock shirts, posters, deals, it was like everybody had something of the WWF in their store. When WCW was on top the only shirt that was all over the place was the nWo shirt. I think the "Attitude" era has been dead since Russo left in '99. He was the one writing the shows from '97-'99. It now appears the WWF will put the "Attitude" era to rest.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 I wanted to vote for the Val Venis choppy choppy angle but it wasn't on the list so I had to go with Austin-McMahon.
Guest Maurizio C... Version 2 Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 the Attitude era = people swearing, saying a lot of ass words, so no, the attitude era's not over, if that's what you're trying to say.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 Hasn't the WWF replaced "Attitude" with WWF "Desire"? They aren't as edgy as they were back then either.
Guest Some Guy Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 The Attitude Era was from just before Survuvor Series 97 until Royal Rumble 2000, IMO. PPV and TV matches were given more time and most of the storylines made some sense and were based on wrestling, until teh HHH/Steph/Angle love triangle didn't pan out properly. This started the Real McMahon-Helmsley Era, where HHH didn't job to anybody and never got got what was coming to him. This was the beginning of the downfall which seems to be plateuing out now. BTW I voted for McMahon/Austin
Guest Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 What was the pre-attitude era called? And what was the pre - pre-attitude era called?
Guest Some Guy Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 Pre attitude was the transition period, at least that's what I call it. Pre-pre attitude was "The New Generation", official WWF name.
Guest dreamer420 Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 The attitude era was what brought wrestling to the mainstream again. Being allowed to say ass and show endless T&A got fans interested again and got the ratings higher.
