Guest Booker D Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Brock Lesner. We are all impressed. He's as big as Steiner and suppossedly 10x the worker. While his reactions havent been mind blowing, thats because he is relativly unknown by the majority of the fans. Hes a big freak who can wrestle, he'll be over in no time. BUT! will he suffer from Jericho Syndrom? You know what I'm talking about. Jericho was monster over when he arrived, and the misused him for the better part of three years. Minus a great IC feud with Benoit, and a one night stand in the main event a year ago, he did nothing until he unified the titles in December. It's happened to RVD as well, insanely popular, flirts with a PPV main event, then is shunted down to curtian jerker and just now given the IC title. Tajiri as well, hes the worst case of them all, connected with the fans and featured in prominent matches on the TV broadcasts. Now hes the JAKKED superstar, who carries a defunt title belt. ...Anyway, do u think they will push Brock to the top, or bury him for three years?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I can see Brock getting a huge push that leads to HHH beating him in a title match on Raw. When HHH gets hungry...he must be fed. Although seriously...I could see them taking the Goldberg route...only HHH WILL beat him to put a stop to it. Mark my words.

If something like this happens, then the WWF would have a maximum of two years to live. The fans would turn away in droves if Vince pulled a WCW stunt like that. Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Lesner ie huge so the biggest detraction form Jricho wouldn't be a factor. I agree with BPS, if HHH beat him, it would be Kliq 2, ultra over, money drawing monsters 0.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Well...I think pushing Brock as a monster is fine... it just bothers me that HHH will probably be booked as the one to stop him. I'm pretty confident that HHH would have squashed RVD by now...if he weren't afraid that RVD would be so much more over than he was in the match. He tried to take RVD down a peg at Rumble...when RVD cleared out everyone and then got hit with a pedigree and eliminated. But the crowd cared more about that then the fact that HHH won the match. Right now...HHH is telling Steph how great it would be to push Brock and then feed him to HHH. That's what happened when he told them how they should push Jericho when he was away...and he ate him at Mania. How did you think he got so big?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Brock Lesner is different from Jericho in one main way, that being, Jericho is from WCW... ...and Brock is the WWF's "pet project" two years in the making. The WWF has created, molded, worked with, and has helped Brock Lesner grow. They have been forming him to be a superstar for two years, and there is no way that they will bring him in only to have him be a "jobber" or to piss on him... ...of course, I didn't think there was any way they could f'up the WCW Invasion either, so there goes that logic. But seriously, I think Brock Lesner has a VERY bright future ahead of him, as he IS the WWF's "pet project", and is a mega-superstar, two years in the making. Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I don't think monsters work all that well as main eventers. then i haven't seen him in a 'match' yet. They have invested a shitload of money in the guy tho.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I remember reading about Brock about 2 years ago, amazing where he's gotten so far. They should push him to the mid card and not pull an Angle where there is nothing else for him to do. Keep him at the Intercontinental level for a year or even two then give him the shove to Main Events.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 "I don't think monsters work all that well as main eventers" Well, HHH's current character is about as close to a monster as I can think of. I guess that means I agree with you.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Taker...nope Kane...nope HHH...nope Big Show...nope. The track record isn't good. Yokozuna owned though...
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Steve Austin is always played up like a monster. He took on the entire Alliance, the WWF, the Corparation and now the NWO.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Hogan and Andre were both monsters and they drew 78,000 people to watch them. I'd say some monsters work. Goldberg was cruising right along until Big Daddy Bitch booked himself over the guy.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Steve Austin was built up like the everyman who battles the monsters (Taker, Kane, crazy Foley, etc..). We're talking about monsters who look like they would eat your children and have 40 needles sticking out of their ass.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Monsters like that? That was about EVERY Wrestlemania main event from 2 until 8, as well as unlucky #13. (For the purposes of this generalization, the main event of WM 4 was Hogan-Andre part 3 and NOT the last match of the night, Savage-Dibiase, and Savage counts as a monster heel for the WM5 main event)
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 25, 2002 By the way, you guys forgot about "the monster" that was The Giant Gonzalez, how could you ever forget that force of nature? :
Guest Ash Ketchum Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Brock will prbably be the next Austin or Angle if he gets pushed enough. As I re-call, both Austin and Angle were successful for a while, but due to just a general lack of booking interest, Austin's now pissed and Angle's in the mid-card. They'd better not waste Brock like they did with Test. He's a guy you can build a damn fed around. Guys like RVD, Edge, Val, Test, Brock, Maven, Tajiri, and my personal hope, a returning Kaientai (INDEED!!!!! ) could more or less bring some spark back to the WWF. I hope. But they need to be psuhed/
Guest the BURNHAM Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Ash, although I have no problem with the man, prepare to be bashed for you kind words of test.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I wonder if they will put Brock on a Goldberg-type run of wins. If they do, I agree with bps, HHH will *definetly* be the one who ends it.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I hope he doesn't get the "monster/Goldberg" push. Don't get me wrong if he comes in and jobs all the time that would suck hard. But if he goes on a long undefeated streak and they start making a big deal about it will suck because everytime he gets in the ring you know it's going to be a squash. Until he fights someone like HHH or Undertaker and then everyone will go nuts about the glass ceiling. They should just build him up like AM the Kid said. Don't rush him. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 25, 2002 i'm not even bthering to get excited about brock because the wwf will fuck things up.
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 25, 2002 One of the best angles was Goldberg's winning streak. If the WWF is going to copy a angle, they should put Brock in Goldberg's shoes, but as a heel. Mike Awesome was a monster heel in ECW, and that worked out well. Too bad WCW and the WWF fucked it up with Mike Awesome.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I think Lesnar would be a great IC feud for RVD that would rock big time. Heyman could target RVD because he feels that Robbie screwed over the Alliance by being such an individual and not conforming to the group (in other words for getting over, haha). I think the key is that Lesnar's loss has to be kind of a lame loss, maybe a roll up or small package. He can't go down to a pedigree or rock bottom, or stunner, etc. Let him do the shooting star, I have seen him do it in dark matches and the crowd went nuts. Guest Brian Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I think Brock should do it at a mid-card level, maybe even beating RVD, but to fall prey to......Chris Benoit. Great opportunity to throw what looks like a talented guy with a vet, let them feud, and the should-be naturally talented Lesnar could pick up alot. By the time Benoit stops him, the fans would definately be able to picture Benoit as main event caliber; stopping the unstoppable.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Brock will most likely end up like Kane or Big Show, big push then disappear to Heat regular or type casted as run-in specialist for no apparent reason. A program with Angle or Beniot would help Brock alot
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 "Brock will most likely end up like Kane or Big Show, big push then disappear to Heat regular or type casted as run-in specialist for no apparent reason." I could see that but only if he exhibits the lack of talent that these other two have. Big Show has never had a good match in my opinion. Kane can be carried to a good match. We'll have to see if lesnar has some actual ability to match that monster physique of his.
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 if they eventually put him over hard as a mian eventer the way to get him over would be to obliterate HHH but that will never happen, perks of banging the boss's daughter
Guest buffybeast Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I think because Lesnar's originated in the WWF and they paid a lot of money for him, he will be taken care of just fine. That to me is the major difference between Lesnar and Jericho. There seemed to be an anti-Jericho movement in WWF even before he came on board. I think Lesnar will be handled with care like Angle was his first year or so in WWF.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Angle was pushed to the moon in his first year, it was too much too soon and now he's just stuck between the mid card and main events. Thats why I think they should quickly boost Brock Lesnar to the mid card and then slowly get him to the main event after a year or two. Give him European and Hardcore title reigns, a shot at the Intercontinental title and if the fans continue to respond THEN the main event.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I agree with Brian totally. Have Brock squash everyone, then Benoit comes back and makes him fucking tap like a nut. That would get Benoit over huge.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Brock should squash all the lame midcarders who get in his way, then he should work a long program with Kurt Angle. Have Lesnar be unstoppable by not tapping out to the ankle lock, and go over Angle. Benoit can return, have a long feud with the big guy, make him tap to the Crippler Crossface, and then Benoit can claim he stopped the unstoppable. Brock Lesnar gets pissed, so he goes on a rampage. After re-squashing most midcarders, Brock should go for the big times, going after Benoit, and going over him (a little psych. because now Brock gained enough experience for Benoit). After that, Brock ( I feel) should go over Triple H, which would cement his ME status. After a very INTENSE (LoL) match w/Triple H, in which Brock wins, Brock should eventually go for legendary status. By then, I feel Austin should have the Unified Titles (Late 2003). Austin, by then, will probably be thinking about retiring by putting a younger guy over, and hopefully he'll work a program with Brock. Brock should then go after Austin, claiming he wants to become the "Greatest Wrestling Champion Ever". Austin (at WM in 2004, which would be WM 20), will drop the titles to Brock in the ME of that event, truly and finally signaling the new era of the WWF. I know it might sound far fetched, but BRock is talented enough to revolutionize the business. He could gain a following to rival Hogan and Austin if booked properly. Let's all hope.....
