Guest RedJed Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I'm digging that Monica Keena is in the film, I just saw Crime and Punishment in Suburbia the other day and DAMN she's f'n sexy!
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I think you're a little overcritical......but whatever floats your boat. I still dont see that much of a significant difference in appearance from this version of Jason to the Hodder version or even the previous ones, not to the point where I'm totally having to suspend my disbelief. As I said the Jason character has ALWAYS been tall, why is this so much of a big deal to you all of a sudden? To each their own though All of a sudden? I've said the same thing for 6 months. The point of having Jason vs Freddy is to have basically the two biggest horror bad guys that we've all known for years go against each other. But this movie isn't doing that. It's making changes to both characters or "re-inventing" them as the studio likes to call it. Changing their look and changing parts of their origins with about 90% of the changes being made on the Jason side of things. After years of waiting for this I simply want the characters I know duke it out cause that was the beauty of the original idea. I know it's wrong for having respect for something like Friday the 13th but I do. I've been watching them since I was 6 years old. Their far and away my favorite movie series. I just wanna see it done right instead of having yet another studio just assume that every horror fan is a idiot so it doesn't matter they do.
Guest Urine Sane Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I just wanna see it done right instead of having yet another studio just assume that every horror fan is a idiot so it doesn't matter they do. We just want to be entertained by two major characters that we grew up with, who cares if they've been changed a bit? Think about it this way, when we were kids Jason looked like a GIANT and I bet if you went back and looked at the movies now, he'd still look big, but not as huge. So they go ahead and give the guy some platform KISS boots, so we, the generation who grew up with these fellas will still see him as a huge bad ass mofo! Don't be so anal, we're just here to be entertained.

Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I guess the studios are right then. Fans are idiots. As long as people are willing to accept inferior product, they'll keep making it.
Guest RedJed Report post Posted May 15, 2003 So the entire movie is inferior because they put a new guy in Jasons role who, nitpicking aside, isnt that extremely different overall than the other Jasons in general? Hey, I'm a fan of both Elm Street and Friday genres big time, have every one of the DVDs and have probably seen each at least 5-6 times in my life. Until I actually see the film, I'm not going to speculate on whether its shitty or not........the trailer totally impressed me tenfold, thats all I know. I had hopeless feelings about the film before post production, but from what I've seen so far and heard, it might really turn out damn good.

How do you know it's inferior if you haven't seen it? Notice that you're the only one bitching on this thread? You haven't even said what you think of the trailer, all you've done is whine about Jason's height. Idiots is right.

You haven't even said what you think of the trailer, all you've done is whine about Jason's height. How do I know it's inferior if I haven't seen it? Well, let me see if I can manage to explain this high concept to you. See, movies have these things called trailers. Trailers are supposed to advertise the movie and they are made to make you think that the movie is good. You watch a trailer and you say "wow, that looks good, I want to see that" or you watch a trailer and say "that looks inferior, I think I'll pass." This is a trailer and this one is pure crap. And yes, I already covered what I think about the trailer in the original thread about the trailer before this new one started. It's not just the height, it's everything. The whole thing looks stupid. It's totally boring. Even after finding out the storyline and the changes they made, I was still looking forward to the movie. But after seeing this, I'm not looking forward to it at all. Every bit of it looks stupid to me. Do I care that I'm the only one in this thread that doesn't like it? HAHAHA. Will I see it regardless of how stupid I think the trailers are? Of course. Do I still hope it's good? Yes. Will I shut up if it's good? Nothing will make that happen. Guest RedJed Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Yeah.......lets base an entire movie from a 30 second trailer *sighs*
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Yeah.......lets base an entire movie from a 30 second trailer *sighs* So, let me get this straight. After watching this trailer you're all excited over it, that's ok. But if somebody else watches the same trailer and doesn't think it looks that great, that's wrong? You said yourself that you had bad feelings about the movie until the things you've seen and heard lately, which would include this trailer. I have the opposite feeling. I had really no feelings about it until what I've seen and heard lately. What I've seen and heard, I don't care for. That's the only difference. The trailer turns you on, it turns me off. If it's OK to think the movie will be good after watching this, why is not OK for somebody to see it and think it'll be bad? If I'm not supposed to watch a trailer and come to a conclusion on if I think the movie is for me or not, then please explain to me the purpose of a trailer. Last time I checked over in the real world a trailer is a commerical. It's selling a product. This commercial did not sell me on the product. What is so confusing about that? I know a 5 year old that understands the concept of commercials, maybe I should get him to explain it in crayon.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted May 17, 2003 So what is it about the trailer you don't like, other than Jason's height?
