Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 14, 2003 In fairness to Penny, he was pretty damn good until he hurt his knees. I think Dumas is a good choice since he was on his way to be a ctar in this league with the Suns before his relapse with cocaine.
Guest Spicy McHaggis Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Eddie Jones- Um...WHAT...the guy has had a damn good career. What has he done?
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Nearly 20 pts a game for his career(only that low due to his rookie and second year in L.A. and the shortened NBA season), 2.0 steals per game for his career, has improved shooting each year in the league(shot 40% from 3 this year)...I don't get what you think has been a let down about the guy. Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Im going to go with Vin Baker he was a 20pts avg all-star to a str8 scrub. Penny Hardaway was good for couple of years, up until he injured his knees. Derrick Coleman should be a top PF in the league but his attitude killed it, his whole thing is "He's tall and can play" instead of being passionate and willing to work hard for the sport. Rasheed Wallace will be the next Derrick Coleman. Shawn Kemp is so washed up its not even funny. Joe Smith has been a average player for a while now and he was the #1 pick. Robert Horry should be better than what he is now.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I don't have Eddie Jones' college stats, but his NBA numbers are definately respectable. He might be a let down, but there are a lot of guys who did worse. Derrick Coleman is my pick. I watch him now, and he works well inside and can still hit the 3. I can't imagine how good he might have been ten years ago.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 14, 2003 When I was watching a Pistons/Magic game I was shocked when Kemp checked in. I didn't know he was still in the league.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 14, 2003 For the moment, I think Lamar Odom has done the least with the most talent. He's got the total package yet he has thrown everything away for drugs up until this point. For the Clippers sake, I hope he permanently turns things around. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I didn't say he was a bust; I just said he hasn't done anything yet with all the talent he supposedly has. Remember, this guy was picked 3rd overall and was supposed to be the next Scottie Pippen, Kevin Garnett or Tracy McGrady. He's not as good as Garnett or T-Mac were in their 2nd year, and Miles is in his 3rd year. So, wouldn't that make him a bust? And if not, then what exactly is your definition of bust? Guest Mik at Cornell Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I would go with Vin Baker... Just read any ESPN.com Sportguy article to know what I'm talking about.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 On Darius Miles, I wonder what his high school stats were, because he always seemed overrated to me. And I am not ragging on HS kids who jumpp to the NBA because they have about a 45% success rate, and hell if you can get picked top 3 like Miles go for it. But what was his range in high school, besides dunking? Even longer range shots you have to take into account that 3 point lines were shorter or that he probably had guys that were 6"3 guarding him. I just don't know how overrated he was. I would totally agree on the Lamar Odom comment though.

The key word was that he hasn't done anything yet. If Miles were to blow out his knee this summer and never play in the League again, then he would be a bust. If he never gets better than he is now, he'd be a bust, but we'd have to wait a few years to make sure he won't get any better.

His teams never go anywhere. He has had a few foray's into the second round of the playoffs...and his team always lost to the better team. 3-4 second round playoff trips isn't anything to sneeze at seeing as some of the games best have never been there(McGrady, Garnnet) or gotten out (Pierce,Hill).
