Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted May 14, 2003 After visiting a new video game store near my house (I knew about it for awhile, just never actually went in), they had a sign for a BeyBlade tournament. I have no idea what BeyBlade is, and after searching google, and looking at pictures, I still have no idea what it is. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 14, 2003 From what I've learned, Beyblades are those weird "tops" that you can build upon, to ultimately create a stronger top. The object of a match, is to knock your opponent out of a ring. It certainly will rake in a lot of dough, especially if there's a nice amount of 'Blade tournaments going on in your area. But it turned into something akin to Yugioh and Pokemon. Kids just bought the things like candy. Actually, I saw a tourney once held by some little kids near where I live. I don't know if I was more surprised that I was actually thinking of buying one because of that tourney, or that the kids who own the beyblades in that tourney actually hated the anime with a passion.
