Freddy vs Jason trailer before Matrix...

I swear this trailer got almost more applause than any part(including the beginning or the end) of Matrix Reloaded. I seriously couldn't believe it because for one, the crowd I saw Matrix with didn't seem like your typical sci-fi geek crowd. What was your crowd reaction like?

I went to the 10pm Matrix last night and the trailer was the first to come on. Nobody really reacted though since the lights didnt dim down in the theater at all until halfway through the thing and something was wrong with the sound, none of the speakers were working on the sides, just the direct front ones. This didnt get fixed until the T3 trailer started. So you could barely hear anything, especially since the theater was jammed packed. So it was kind of a letdown, but I know when it first started, I wasnt the first one to know what it was all about, since I heard people mentioning this was Freddy v. Jason.

 

Oh yeah and I think this crowd was totally the typical Sci-Fi geeky crowd, there were people coming into the theater dressed like Trinity and Neo, etc. Not to judge a certain type of person but I saw alot of people there reminiscent to what you'd probably see at a Star Trek convention.

Yeah those were on my cut of the film too..........I talked to a friend from back home who said they didn't show the Freddy v. Jason trailer down there either...........must only be on certain cuts of the film. Wonder how they determine which places to put the trailer on?

Usually when a movie is shown on more than one screen, it gets different trailers. Only time they all get the same trailers is if a certain trailer is promised and is sealed onto the film.

I saw the Freddy vs Jason trailer the night before I saw the Matrix, so as soon as 1980 flashed on the screen I through my hands up and cheered like the internet geek I am. Once other people realized what the trailer was, they got cheerful as well. Then they played Legally Blond 2... which KILLED the crowd... I mean seriously... whose bright idea was it to show THAT preview for the Matrix?

We got Bad Boys 2, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen(some geek got up and cheered when Sean Connery appeared on screen), Finding Nemo, Legally Blondes 2, 2 Fast 2 Furious, T3 and that samurai Tom Cruise movie(Last Samurai I think).

The theatre I went to had the poster but not the trailer. We got Finding Nemo, T3, Legally Blonde 2, League of Extraordinary Gentleman, The Last Samurai, and at least two more.

Same here. I felt cheated. The previews I got were: Legally Blonde 2, The Last Samurai, Kill Bill, LXG, 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Italian Job, and Bad Boys 2.

 

I might be thinking of another time on a couple of those cause 7 previews sounds a little much.

Damn. Sounds like I got the best of the bunch. My previews were:

 

1. Jason vs Freddy (I'd say it actually got a good reaction from the people that bothered to talk about it. Everyone else was pretty quiet)

 

2. The Italian Job (Just a good laugh at Mos Def's "I had a bad experience" line and Seth Green's "I've got the Holy Spirit" line)

 

3. Bad Boys II (little to no reaction even at the supposedly "funny" parts)

 

4. The Last Samurai (silence, except for me when I saw Tom Cruise...I fought to contain myself)

 

5. Kill Bill (poor reception, some guy said "What the fuck was that?" I wanted to stab him)

 

6. Terminator 3 (apathy)

 

I didn't get 2 Fast 2 Furious, Legally Blonde 2 or Finding Nemo although I wish I would've gotten the LXG trailer (even though I've seen it a million times already along with everything else listed here) I got the LXG trailer attached to X-Men 2 when I saw that opening day.
