Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Ok, it looks like they're going for Trips-Taker at Backlash. The question I pose is who would you rather see Trips feud with? Personally, I would like to see HHH feud with anyone but Taker!!!! Trips needs to be carried and Taker is in no condition (like he ever was) to carry a match. I'm sure we can come up with some original possibilities that would make you want to buy Backlash more than Trips-Taker!
Guest Sakura Report post Posted March 25, 2002 What makes you think they're going with UT/HHH? I'd just go with HHH/Jericho II at Backlash. One of the problems with Game as champ is that there's no decent heels not busy. I guess Kurt could work too, but he might fight Edge(lame). Of course Stephanie/HHH: Lotion on a Pole would be good if they want a killer buy-rate.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 25, 2002 there's only one person in the wrestling world that is in HHH's league, there is only one wrestler with the talent and charisma to feud with HHH..... that wrestler is HHH. that ladies and gentlemen was a trip inside HHH's mind. Scary Huh?
Guest mastermind Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Well, HHH and HHH will be fighting on the same side. Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Hunter Hearst Helmsley will face Nash and Hall with X-Pac in their corner this Thursday from the Continental Arena house show just announced by the LAW on Sports Radio Talk. I actually think Triple H vs. the steroid bottle would be a good fight.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 "What makes you think they're going with UT/HHH?" Rumoured on the dirt sheet websites (not just 1bob, but also meltz and torch). And Hogan and Hunter on the same side is scary. You can feel the INTENSITY from here. And the sad thing is Nash will probably bump his ass off for Trips, being his buddy and all. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I would go with either Jericho or Angle.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 You guys might not like this, cuz you'll all think that HHH will hold him down and make him look foolish, but I think a Booker/HHH feud would do wonders for The Book. Putting Booker in a main event program with HHH can only cement him in the upper card, even if he gets held down...AND gives us something fresh. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 HHH will face Taker to get his job returned from Mania 17. I wouldn't be surprised if Kane gets a push so HHH can get that job back from Judgment Day 2001. HHH CAN'T have those hang around for too much longer. Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'd say Angle,he could carry HHH to a good match
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Damn Kahran, you can come up with better than that!!! You forgot HHH-Nash, HHH-Hogan, HHH-Goldust But point taken. There are worse possibilities than Taker but there are also a ton of better options as well
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted March 25, 2002 why is taker always in the world title picture right after wrestlemania? in 97 he was the champ, in 98 he was starting his feud with austin, in 99 he won the championship in over the edge, in 2001 he fought austin again...... Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Ahem... Taker will face HHH this year FOR NO OTHER REASON than for HHH to get his job back from last years Mania. As last years ratings during the Taker, Kane push prove...Taker does not draw anymore.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 25, 2002 As last years ratings during the Taker, Kane push prove...Taker does not draw anymore. Neither does HHH, and he is still the Undisputed Champ.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 25, 2002 "Taker will face HHH this year FOR NO OTHER REASON than for HHH to get his job back from last years Mania." Sorry smark brother, gotta disagree with that. As much as HHH goes to production meetings and the like, we don't know that the above statement is the only reason HHH is facing Taker. Hell, we don't even know HHH is facing him for sure.(I may end up eating those words after tommorrow) This might be a power play by the Taker as a reward for jobbing to Maven at the Rumble. That last statement has as much validity as yours, bps.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I guess... I remember making a post in the dying days of the old smarkboard where I predicted that HHH would get the job back from Taker before returning any to...(Austin, Jericho, Rock, Benoit). So I've been thinking about this for a while. The ratings during the Taker and Kane push of 2001 started strong and then sank like a stone, before stabalizing during the Jericho & Benoit push. I can't imagine that Taker could get the WWF to put the ball in his hands again after failing last year (especially with ratings just now increasing after being bad for so long) just because of who eliminated him from a match he wasn't winning anyway. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 25, 2002 "The ratings during the Taker and Kane push of 2001 started strong and then sank like a stone, before stabalizing during the Jericho & Benoit push." That's because the Taker/Kane push was right after WM, where there is usually good ratings for the first 3 or 4 shows. The reason the ratings stabilized during the Canadian Chris's push was the wwf turned off quite a few fans with the Austin turn and some other stupid things. (like pushing Taker/Kane) By the way bps. I know you are not a fan of face HHH. But would you agree that if there were any a time to have him turn from heel to face was the night after WM X-7? I was just watching the dvd and the night after section. The crowd was popping left and right thinking Hunter was gonna clock Austin. This started the whole nonsensical storylines (Austin aligning himself with a man that tried to have him killed) that started the downward spiral we are currently in. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'm not bps but I will agree with that assessment. HHH and Austin should never have been a tag team especially with their history. It was one of the worst ill-conceived ideas I've ever heard And the downward spiral you are referring to would be the shitty storylines and nonsensical direction, right? Because up until the last couple of months the wrestling was GREAT
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I liked the 2 man power trip, ecept for HHH winning the IC belt that was like a step bacwards
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'm not flaming you, but what did you like about it?
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 the beginning, where it looked like he was gonna smash austin and then helped him, they were the 2 biggest names hooking up to dominate the WWF,and the match with benoit and jericho, what i didnt like which was mentioned before was HHH slapping hardy around for the ic title there was no reason for HHH to hold the ic belt again
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 but I still contend that their union was illogical due to their past history. And with their union (and Kurt Angle still a heel) there were no credible main eventers to challenge. Not to mention that there was never a payoff to the angle with the exception of the Benoit-Jericho tag team run.
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 True,it ended shitty because of HHH's injury Austin talked shit and HHH still has done nothing,it never had a proper ending
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Another cliche for the other post: If Triple H is the topic of a thread you can bank on the fact that smarks will run him down in it
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 25, 2002 "Another cliche for the other post: If Triple H is the topic of a thread you can bank on the fact that smarks will run him down in it " Only if you're bps Actually, this isn't a knock on Trips at all but a knock on the poor thought process going into the 2man Power Trip. It made no sense and after trips reception at WM17 and the buildup to the RAW main event, they could have had a far more effective face to replace the Rock. Instead, we got the Brothers of Destruction. WTF???
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Benoit should feud with HHH on his return, as he could get a decent match out of him and maybe remind HHH that he used to be a wrestler, not just a bodybuilder.
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Thats a good idea
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I don't really care whom he feuds with. I just want him to turn heel, and go back to working matches the way he was prior to he quad injury. I see nothing wrong with a HHH/UT feud if both men work their asses off. HHH/Austin has proven that it can be entertaining, though it has been beaten to death. Same with HHH/Angle. Benoit won't be back for a while still. Rob Van Dam is in the Intercontinental division still. Kane would most likely just clash really badly with HHH. I guess just have him keep feuding w/ Chris Jericho until Y2J is fully established.
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'm not bps but I will agree with that assessment. HHH and Austin should never have been a tag team especially with their history. It was one of the worst ill-conceived ideas I've ever heard Wasnt it because HHH didn't want to be #2 heel in the company so he pitched the idea to join up with Austin?
Guest mastermind Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Now I'm not agreeing with this, but I think a reason for the 2 man power trip was to get Austin more over as a heel. Triple H was the top heel and his past with Austin would obviously make Austin look more like a sell-out. Remember fans still wanted to cheer Austin. I think Triple H was the crutch although in retro he should have turned face. I think HHH/Taker is for the main reason to get the job back as champion imo. I agree with bps. Another reason Taker always gets into the world title scene after Mania is that it's better than putting him in it in the weeks leading to the event. It also helps solidify the champion or at least that's what they probably think because I don't believe it. I agree we need Trips leading the nWo as a heel with Stephanie gone which will make this heel run different.
