I've seen online pics of the Elephant Man naked, so I have to believe Rocky's out there somewhere!

Eric Stoltz really looks like the real Rocky. Very good movie, sad ending. I cried when Rocky died.

The more I watch the movie the more flaws I see in it. Plus I guess the real Rocky was in worse shape then they made him out to be. (Or was that John Merrick in The Elephant Man?) I can't recall

It seems to be Man on the Moonesque, where they hit highspots and leave out how we got from pt A to C. I don't know if that makes sense or not. I've watched the movie 6-10 times I think, so maybe I've just grown weary of it.

 

Fun Fact: I now find The Elephant Man to be a comedy, after watching it over a dozen times in the last 3-4 years.

Maybe I was too squeemish to look for very long, but the real pic doesn't seem to look that much like the movie's version... He seems to have a growth spurting out of his cheek. *rubs neck uncomfortably..moves on*

After comparing the photos, you're right. Guess I had a knee jerk reaction.The real Rocky doesn't look like he has that bushy red hair.

I do understand what you mean about skipping parts. The movie probably isn't supposed to be about the disease, and more about Rocky Dennis the person.
