Strange comments from TV marks on the internet

I've been on the internet since about 1995 and have been involved with dozens of TV newsgroups, mailing lists, newsboards, and other fourms dedicated to TV shows and it amazes me that TV marks keep whinning about the same thing with little knowledge about the buisness:

-Without fail whenever a network airs whatever sporting event series (usually baseball and basketball postseasons) or game fans (usually females) will get in a tizzy because they think that they are missing episodes. Now its one thing when a local affiliate does it, that I can see being annoyed because that market is not seeing the program while everyone else in the country will. That has more to do with the local affiliate accquiring the rights to a local team and for whatever reason airing games during dates that the network is airing new programing. But this is when a major network accquires the rights to a sport and the network's sports divison has to run the programing when the leagues tell them to (now the network does have a say of when the games air and its usually during prime time) so the entertainment divison runs its schedule accordingly.

Now you will still get complaints from fans thinking they are somehow "missing" episodes, thinking that they are actually missing an episode when say a World Series game is broadcasted during that timeslot. Personally its tough to take because usually the information of network programing can easily be found in TV Guide or by looking up that network's website (being that the person complaining is able to get onto the internet they should be able to access the websites)

-Complaining of lack of new episodes for a few weeks times. Okay this does get to me as well, but there is nothing you can do during this day and age. TV is run by advertisers and thats why you get all new episodes during the sweeps months (Sept-Oct, Feb, May) and maybe 1-2 episodes per month the rest of the season. Also considering the amount of episodes ordered per season is usually 24 or so, the network seasons would be over around Feburary

-Not meaning to bash people in other countries but it gets tad annoying when TV groups discussing shows that originate in the States start catering to those in other country (usually UK posters) by using spoiler space for episodes that have aired allready here in the states (and describing it as being for those in the UK) Example, on the Friends list it has gotten so overboard that I see talk about an episode I've seen years ago and people are talking about it as if it was brand new (yes to them it is and maybe I sound nitpicky but it is a bit weird)

There are some others, but mostly they are stuff that TV smarks would say as well (arguing when a show should go off the air, complaining about actors coming and going, nitpicking mistakes, ect) but these are the most markish comments I usually see pop up almost on a regular basis

You know what really pisses me off is that the local ABC affiliate KSAT tends to put Byron Allan entertainment tonight ripoff show on at 7:30 PM Central for now real reason at all at random times. Often bumping off a sitcom episode which will most likely never to air on again.

And why can't the late night talk shows show in its intended time slot? Jimmy Kimmel is on at 1:30 AM, Letterman is on at 11:00, Conan is on at Midnight. DAMN YOU SAN ANTONIO FOR BEING JAY LENO'S BITCH

it depends on the network & the show, i think. sometimes it's as low as 13.

It used to piss me off when they would show baseball instead of a Seinfeld rerun I had already seen 12 times.

That still pisses me off. Baseball is boring.

It never ceases to amaze me just how far into a tv show people will get. Like trekkies, but they have them for every show on the air.
