Enter the Matrix

I just rented Enter the Matrix for my Gamecube and I don't think I've had this much fun playing a video game in a long time.

 

Great stuff. Smooth controls. Nice graphics. Good storyline. I reccommend it to anyone. Atleast the Gamecube version. Can't really judge the other ones.

 

I'm still figuring out all the cool matrix moves you can do.

My friends bought it for PS2 (I may go buy it tomorrow), and I thought it was great. I liked going into Matrix mode (or whatever it was called, I forgot), and just start whooping ass, instead of using guns.

 

 

The wall run into the spin kick = rules.

Yeah I hardly ever use my guns. I'm bouncing off walls and kicking them. I like how you can run up behind people and use the Z button to put a Sleeper Hold on them.

I like how this game's story follows side by side with the movie even showing stuff that happened right before it. There's even a couple of scenes from Reloaded in it.

Well I've actually been waiting for some reviews before I make it a buy or not, so any input on the game are appreciated because everyone seems to be at E3 this time of year and no one is posting reviews. I've heard the control scheme is a bit awkward at points, any thoughts?

The control scheme isn't awkward. It's pretty straight forward.

 

The Gameplay is very smooth. The missions are complex and fun. The cut scenes are mostly live action footage actually shot for the game using the actors from the movie. It has a lot of cool moves to use. Deep levels with good detail.

 

It's a very fun game. There's a great level where you hang out the window of a speeding car gunning down the cars chasing you.

 

You play as Naiobi and her crew and you interact with pretty much every character from the movie.

Well, my friend finished it, and brought it over here, to go through it again, but with codes. There is a multiplayer mode (PS2 Version) everyone should try out, it's cool. I suggest everyone go out and buy/rent it.

I've never played Max Payne, but from what I've seen of Max Payne I can see some similarities.

 

In Enter the Matrix, the ability to do special Matrix moves makes it that much cooler. You can run on walls, slow the action down to evade bullets, slow the action down to make your jumps last longer, etc.

I'm sorta suprised by all the love for the game. I thought the controls were pretty awkward myself. I liked Dead to Rights better.

 

Though the agents in the game should be badass.

 

I rented it a played it for a couple of hours, but never really got into the controls. The storyline was obviously much more than an afterthought, though.

Which system did you play it on? I thought the controls were just fine when I played it on Gamecube.

Eh...its a rental game and nothing more. Going from point A to B laced with cool effects is fine in moderation.

Played it from start to finish. Unfortunately, the game suffers from a ton of glitches (not just my copy, I've read other posts claiming to have the same problems on the PS2 version). I think the developers were rushed to get the game out onto the market right when the movie was released, resulting in a number of small problems that could have been corrected. The evironments look unpolished and half-done, the audio echos in a lot of cutscenes, and I've read about many times in which the game freezes.

 

Aside from those problems, I agree, the game's great. But definately rent before you buy.
