Guest What? Report post Posted May 17, 2003 Since my girlfriend is a Senior and I a Junior, she was shocked (in a happy way, of course) when I asked her to her prom. She said yes, and now, only 6 short hours before, I am waiting for her to finish getting dressed so we can go to San Francisco and do Prom-ish things. Two of my friends were horsing around near the pool, when security had to come and stop them. At the dinner table. They gave us liters of soda to drink. So don't do it. Both of my proms sucked the moment I sobered up. Of course my senior prom was fun because I did my best to piss off and ruin everyone elses prom. Nothing like kareoke with a friend, stoned out of your minds, and both of you singing totally different songs, neither of which is the song on the screen. Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted May 18, 2003 Mine was last weekend but couldn't go because of prior engagements, which was fine since I wasn't really up to spending hundreds of bucks to get laid, I'll get a hooker if that mood shall strike. Anyway, after I got finished with what kept me from going to prom, some of my friends who graduated last year and I went out to the movies and got some grub and all that stuff. Spent about $15 the whole night, which was a lot better than the hundreds that would have gone for prom, since I had about as much fun doing that. On a side note, Max's story made me laugh quite a bit. Funny stuff, man, even if it may have been hard for you. Prom is pretty overrated and only special to some, but for others, it's just another social gathering that leaves yet another emotional scar. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Guest HBK16 Report post Posted May 18, 2003 When my sister had her prom, her boyfriend skipped the traditional limo rent and rented a Viper to go to the prom. He had it for the weekend so after the prom me and him went cruising down the streets stopping at all our friends house and teasing them. It was so awesome. We didnt go to crazy with it only because it wa under his uncle's name. I was always toting a video camera at school functions, and caught some great moments on tape, such as: During a "kickline" for "New York, New York", a kids shoe flew off and broke some dishes on a mantle, nearly catching the DJ in the head. While scanning the tables, somehow caught some nerd girl accidentally put her arm in her plate, and then proceed to lick the food off her arm...ugh. Needless to say, the circulation of the video didn't do wonders for HER career. Though one of my defining high school moments involved my senior prom. Actually, it involved the fact that I didn't go. My datemate at the time went to a different school, and so she had a family vacation planned for the week of my prom (not realizing when it was). The newspaper (as in the statewide distributed, not a local paper) was doing an article on our senior class' prom. So I sat down for a few minutes with the reporter and told her the story of me skipping the prom and turning down 3 dates (one from a HOT older girl too) because you shouldn't have to settle for second best when it comes to your prom, I'd rather have gone with my girl at the time, etc. Sure enough, my little ploy worked, and got printed in that Sunday's paper. My phone was off the hook with girls I knew from school calling to a)offer a date or b)tell me how sweet I was. The girl came back from her trip a few days after the prom, and I showed her the article. Her whole family ate it up with a spoon, and though I don't see them too often, still rave about me being a sweetheart. The girl herself was extremely flattered, and we went on to have a nice, albeit brief lol, relationship. I still got the article around here somewhere too. I went with some chick I didn't really like (It was complicated) and spent most of the night being extremely aggravated that the chick I was actually in love with was there with someone else. The highlight of my night was playing cards. No, I'm dead serious. The food was ass, I was sitting at a table full of people I didn't really like, plus I don't like dancing, nor the music played at such events. He went with this girl, but she wouldn't go unless her friend went.....I wasn't going to go, but I was the wingman, so I kinda had to. Anyway, after prom the girls wanted to go to some guy's house that they knew, so we went there. Turns out it was entirely lame, a bunch of fucking Harkins Theatres employees and my exgirlfriend whoring herself around to a bunch of fucking dorks. I started picking fights with people, then I said, in the words of Mr. Laz, "Fuck that noise," and took off. A couple of phone calls later and I was at a Triple-Kegger~! with my best friends, so the night wasn't a total bust. I got faded, that's all that matters, correct? Correct. I know, crazy. Anyway, the story is funny because they spent the whole time bitching at eachother, then ignoring eachother. As I pulled out I saw her sitting at the door crying, so I was sure to pull over and laugh at her. Guest Ram Report post Posted May 19, 2003 I skipped on my prom this year, and avoided the multi-kegger afterparty since I figured I'd look like a douche going to an afterparty without actually going to prom. I regret not going though, but there weren't as many people there as I had expected so it's alright. People tried to make prom sound fun this year, but in all honesty it sounded like a shitty glorified homecoming dance. I do plan on going next year, and teaming up with The Usual Suspects™ to make all the Juniors slip on soapy water on the way in, getting drunk as hell at the afterparty, and competing in a Garbage Wrestling match with whatever drunkard I find first.
