Guest Nanks Report post Posted May 18, 2003 Am I the only one who cares?? I've only heard the new single, Heaven, a few times, and I like it without loving it. I've been told the CD is pretty good, obviously nothing on the greatness that is Throwing Copper, but solid nonetheless. Anybody have anything to add on this?? Guest raptor Report post Posted May 18, 2003 I'm a huge Live fan, and have had it pre-ordered for a long time now. I think I'm in the minority of Live fans, due to the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed "V". The general impression is that "Birds of Pray" abandons the experimentation of "V" and does a very good job of recapturing some of the aura of "Throwing Copper" and "Secret Samadhi". Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted May 19, 2003 I'm a big Live fan too and heard their new single about a month ago and have enjoyed it quite a bit. Throwing Copper is still a great album, IMO. When's this one drop, this week or next week?
Guest Nanks Report post Posted May 20, 2003 Out now, in Australia at least.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Report post Posted May 20, 2003 OK, I loved Throwing Copper, but I must say I'm confused. I've always interpreted Kowalcyk's lyrics as being atheistic, or agnostic at the very least. So how is it that the new single is entitled "Heaven"? Are they born agains? Guest raptor Report post Posted May 20, 2003 They seem to deal with religion in a non-denominational way. They use a lot of iconic imagery (like Heaven) that is not associated with just one religion. That's what I've always thought.
