Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 With PS2 Online, is their a monthly charge like for X-Box live? And do you have to pay a monthly charge for the games, besides Everquest? I know there probably is, but I haven't found out how much it is, or anything, except for Everquest.

Guest Jobber of the Week Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Sony just leaves it to the developers to host things. They just provide the hardware. In other words, some games are pay, some aren't. Some games are well maintained by their developers, some aren't.

A thingy for Everquest or online games such as Everquest will be in place later this year. About 25$ a month.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Sony is going to begin charging a little over $20 a month for all Sony online games. Third parties can still do whatever they want. I know for sure that EA is going to be charging for their games, which is the main reason they won't go to Xbox Live. Other companies will probably also charge since they have to maintain their own servers, but there will most likely still be some free online games.
