Rest in Peace, Hell in a Cell

Wait, you mean HIAC wasn't just a stupid setup for one big bump anyway? It meant something?

Huh.

In response to the comment about the brawl involving anyone else, I remember a pretty big backlash to the last overbooker piece of shit brawl involving someone other than those two being the Austin, Booker one in the supermarket, pure shit. The last really god one I could think of was Benoit Angle from I think around Halloween.

I have to hand it to Nash and HHH. They may be slowly killing the pastime I love but they clever bastards. They know that the buyrate for this PPV is going to tank so they are having the one gimmick match that can increase buys on its own. There are plenty of gullible marks out there who will buy this PPV based on HIAC matches past, so if the buyrate is better than the last couple of PPVs they can still claim to Vince that they are still draws and deserve to be headlining shows. Fuck you Hunter!

And if (when) it tanks, they'll blame Jericho for not being able to draw even with Goldberg as an opponent.

Ya know, I don't want to shit all over this match yet, but Nash/HHH better think of something creative because with these two guys, I doubt there is going to be much climbing or "huge bumps" that take advantage of the HIAC atmosphere. I am kind of intrigued to see how they utilize the HIAC when they can barely walk correctly.

Well the WWE did eventually balk at giving Nash the title at JD when they saw the reaction (or lack thereof) to Nash so there may be a chance they may give up on the HIAC for BB once they figure out THEY CAN'T EVEN WORK A REGULAR MATCH TOGETHER FOR SHIT!

Well...I'll hold my opinion until the match happens. I have a feeling it's going to blow, but who knows. If I remember right, everyone here bagged on the Brock/Taker HIAC, then praised it afterwards. Anything can happen.

Brock/Taker HITC match sucked big time, Taker bleeding buckets of blood does not equal 5* match. There are a lot of Lesnar bandwagon jumpers b/c he is supposed to be hot shit right now.And by the way Nash/HHH HITC will suck more than Taker/Boosman HITC match.

I'd pay to see BB if both men did a Foley onto the Spanish announce table.

Love how the first 2 hell in a cells were so great...then after that they've all been uneventfull cause you spend the whole match waiting for the "big bump," which doesn't happen anymore.

And for the record, I know Foley/Taker isn't "great"...but it's still the kind of thing you can watch over again, and definatly memorable.

I dunno...if Bossman/Taker couldn't kill Hell in a Cell...

Shit, don't forget Al Snow/Bossman's Kennell in a Cell or whatever the hell they called it. *shudder* If that match didn't kill the gimmick, nothing will.

Key Point though: Both those matches severely wounded HiaC. HHH/Cactus brought some prestige back, HHH/Jericho took most of it away. The Incredibally overated Taker/Brock kind of broke even, seeing as it was an okay match but too soon after the last one and not a good enough feud. HHH/Nash is dealing with a Cell match that has alot more baggage thanay other.

HiaC should be for blowoffs not shitty self-important fueds between people who have no right to be at the top level.

Time to wait for Mr. America vs. Vince in the Hell ina Cell~@!@

I don't really see a reason for HHH vs. Nash to be in a cell right now. They should have done a regular cage match, or a lumberjack match first to clearly establish the need for a cell... but then again, that involves one or two more Nash vs. HHH matches... so I *do* see the reason... I just don't think it's right ;)

Oh, and they already used up the 'Unsanctioned Street Fight!' with HBK.

It should have been Jazz vs. Victoria vs. Trish Hell in a Cell.

Since the name of the PPV is BAD BLOOD, why can't HHH and Nash have a first blood match?

Because Cripps needs to bleed his brains out if he has any hope of making this abortion watchable.

I think Undertaker should just move over to Raw.

You guys are missing the point. Because the Raw booking crew is doing a HIAC with HHH/Nash, this means someone has to climb the cage and there has to be at least some kind of big bump involved. A lot of chasing will be involved as well. This match will take its toll on the quads of Crips and Big Lazy. Badd Blood will soon be forever remembered as "Sore Quad".

No, remember the "super amazing Oh My God best Hell in a Cell ever" (TM Chris Jericho and HHH) or the "super amazing Oh My God best Hell in a Cell ever" (TM this board) matches of 2002? Niether had a big bump.

Even if there isn't a huge bump, there has to be a "climbing the cage, BAH GAWD~!" spot. There is a 70-30 chance that we will hear the awesome sound of a quadricep tearing.

The only reason I loved UT/Brock was because even though he's way past his prime, UT went and put in a lot of effort into the match. He busted his ass, as did Brock.

Now, while HHH might be willing to make this watchable, (And keep Nash in the MEs in the process) how can Nash contribute anything to this match?

At the very least HHH can lend his requiste "KLIQ MANLY BLADEJOB." I guess Nash still has THE POOCHIE BOMB.

Will this match be better then HHH/Steiner?

Didn't make the match anywhere NEAR the ***1/2 match everyone was screaming it was.

Still, it did ALOT to undo the damage HHH/Jericho did. (Just a random match with no goodbuild in an on again off again feud and no big bump with a bad finish)

Perfect.

It did more then that:

1.) It was well booked, the right guy went over.

2.) It established Brock as THE guy on SmackDown, moreso then SummerSlam. It also showed that The Undertaker was willing to step aside as the dominant big man in the company.

3.) It was the best bloodbath the WWE has seen in a while, and at least got the point across that these guys dislike each other.

4.) It had decent build with Brock using mindgames first, and then giving himself an edge with the hand.

5.) Tremendous heat, with the seeds of Brock's face turn being sown.

It succeeded as a match beyond workrate, more into what the WWE wanted that match to accomplish.

I was speaking strictly in terms of what it did for the HiaC legacy.

I agree with everything but 4.

I see. Sorry.

Here's a new topic: Which was better? UT/HBK or HHH/Cactus Jack?
