Guest Mole Report post Posted March 25, 2002 This is the first time in a long time that I am really excited for Raw. A lot of different things could happen at the draft, Steph might leave the WWF, and D'Lo, Benoit, Rey Jr., Eddie, plus others could come back to the WWF tonight. Sounds like a good Raw to me. Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 It is kind of exciting considering surprise drafts and such,it will be the best RAW ever if Stephanie doesnt win! and I hope if Misterio shows that they build a GOOD cruiserweight division otherwise he'll be wasted
Guest MARTYEWR Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Depending where certain guys will be drafted (*coughcoughNWOcoughcough*), I gotta believe they'll go with the obvious and have Rock drafted first, then Austin. I keep hearing about Stephanie wanting to take a vacation, so I believe either her or Jericho will be jobbing. Hopefully her, to protect Jericho's heat. Overall, I'm looking forward to Raw, especially since I'm still in a semi-mark mode from attending Smackdown last week.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I'm pumped, this RAW will be one of the best.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Heh, with how they're going about it, I wouldn't be surprised if they bring in Chris Berman and Sterling Sharpe to call the draft. You have Commissioner ---- actually, is there a Commissioner? Commish: With the eigth selection in the draft, Ric Flair drafts Chris Benoit. Mr. McMahon is now on the clock. McMahon: (from backstage) I'm Vince McMahon dammit! I don't deserve a...CLOCK!! Berman: Wow! Chris Benoit! What do you think Sterling? Sharpe: Why are we at a wrestling event? Berman: I don't know... Meh, it's a work in progress.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I can't wait for it either. This promises to be the biggest Raw ever and I don't see how they could possibly disappoint.
Guest MARTYEWR Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Commish: "With the fifth selection in the draft, Mr. McMahon, representing Smackdown, selects the nWo. Ric Flair, representing Raw, is now on the clock." Berman: "WOW! 3 guys selected at once! This is a first!" Sharpe: "This is unprecendented, Vince. In all our years of covering the NFL draft, I don't think this has EVER happened!" Berman: "Well, Leslie Visser is with X-Pac who...is getting very little reaction from the crowd. Wow, a high pick that the fans don't see to care for? This is a risk, to say the least. Leslie, take it away!"
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Any word on how many matches there will be?
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 This Raw could be good. I think there will probably be about 5-6 matches. The draft will take most of the time. Although they should do the draft in the 20 minute promo slot, then do all the other picks backstage.
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 you think its possible that Jericho/HHH is like ya know a good match tonight. with minimal steph. her boobs get larger, her entertainment value drops. Maybe we even get more than one decent match and no hogan or nash in ring action, oh no im dreaming. I'd rather see Madden and Summeral call all of tonights show, and Madden give a Turkey too the MVP's of tonights Raw.
Guest joshicho Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I am looking really forward to Raw, but I always get my hopes up. This time, I've decided I won't. I mean, come on! It's the WWF! They HAVE to screw things up!
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I try not to get excited concerning anything in wrestling that is hyped as the biggest show or surprise any longer. Getting excited = being disappointed. However i am interested about tonight show. It has the potential to be the first new thing to take place in wrestling since NWO. It also may be their last chance to give the fans a reason to not stop watching. I'd be surprised if they don't give us something decent-good at least to build on the very solid week they have given since WM. But as we all know...you can never tell with WWF. The draft needs Mel Kiper!!
Guest Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm pretty excited, if for nothing at all to atleast see how the whole draft will be conducted. It should be pretty cool. Edit: Can anyone see my avatar? Or is the pic not workin?
Guest ZGangsta Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I can't wait for it either. This promises to be the biggest Raw ever and I don't see how they could possibly disappoint. Well, considering the WWF's track record over the last booking year with screwing up unsrewupable angles, I'd be a bit cynical. But I think the WWF has turned over a new leaf and may be listening to their audiences so I'll see how it goes. Regardless, no matter how completely awesome the draft is, no matter how many 5* matches there are tonight, if Stephanie wins the World title, then it's the worst RAW ever. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 The WWF can't afford to blow this one. This is too huge for the WWF rgiht now and if they did fuck it up somehow, it could ruin the WWF.
Guest Sykotic2002 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm really looking forward to seeing Raw tonight. I haven't looked this forward to watching Raw in a LONG time. Hopefully they don't screw it up tonight.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I dont think anyone should really get their hopes up for this show, because you will likely be disappointed. I am going in with nothing expected. Only secure in the fact that NOTHING can be worse than the last few months of television...
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I doubt Benoit will get drafted seeing as though he hasnt been on tv since last June and he is a good 2 months away from being back on tv. As far as this whole draft thing goes, I bet it will probably last until July when they can use the Invasion PPV as a Brand vs Brand blow off PPV. Im not that excited about tonight. Probably only will be 3 matches total including the ME, most of the show is going to go towards the draft. Im still trying to figure out what happens to heat/metal/jakked/excess. I would assume that flair controls jakked/metal since they are taped before RAW and Vince controls Heat because its taped before Smackdown, but that still doesnt explain excess, although no one really cares about any of the shows so it probably doesnt matter. Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 If the spoilers I'm hearing are correct, then the WWF IS finding a way to blow this one... Spoiler Space end Spoiler Space Due to the Triple Threat main event, HHH, Jericho, and Steph are ineligible for the draft. Austin is also ineligible for the draft due to "contractual obligations." All four of them are free agents for now, and deals will be negotiated at some undetermined point in the future. This pretty much means that the only big names being drafted are The Rock, the nWo, Taker, Hogan, and some of the more over midcarders. The plan for the draft is to make the first 20 picks live on the air, with the rest of the picks being made live on WWF.com immediately after the show. The new rosters won't go into effect until next Monday, so this week's Smackdown is unaffected.
