H8 Club/Hero

I was reading up about this but I can't seem to find the true story.

During COD4's H8 Club v. BBoy/Chris Hero match, the H8ers seem to work extra stiff, especially on Hero, to the point where it seems as if its real, and after Gage's bootscrapes in the corner, he gets in Hero's face and yells at him.

What did Hero do to piss Nate & Nick off?

I've heard that Gage was Stiff as hell because Hero did some bitching on CZW Wrestlers backstage.

He was treated like shit there anyway. Too talented to be used as a H8 Club jobber anyway.

As the number 2 CZW authority on this board- it was never really clear what the exact reason was. Gage's exact words to Hero postmatch were-"don't you ever, EVER in your life, come here talking shit about us, and CZW."

A lot of different theories:

1. The H8 Club took Hero's prematch promo, in which he put over IWA-MS and said he didn't give a shit about CZW, personally. Nick Gage in particular is known to go deep into kayfabe and never break character.

2. Something did go on backstage before the match, because Hero seemed to know what was coming- he was dogging it BIGTIME in that match, something he normally wouldn't do. His forearms were weak and sloppy, and he didn't try for offense when he could have, and he let B-Boy work most of the match.

3. XPW signed Hero shortly after this, maybe CZW knew this was coming and buried Hero for it- there were rumors Hero was going to be brought in as a regular prior to COD4. Either that or this match pissed off Hero so much he backed out of working for CZW and went to the competition.

i doubt we will ever really know what was going on between the h8 club and hero.

like you said gage is a living kafab(if it was not for pondo most beople would not know gage and pain are brothers) and I seriously doubt he will ever do a shoot interview to give his side of the story.

I was there, and after hearing all this shit about how fantastic Hero was in the ring I wondered what the fuck happened. Thankfully, the same night I picked up SMV's "Best of CH Volume 1," and that, coupled with the post he made the next day on his website, made me know that he kicked ass.

I've seen the match myself, and without going by the law according to Jay, I honestly didn't think it came off all that bad besides for them giving Hero ZERO offense, and a really stiff chairshot. Gage's kneescrapes, which I kept being told before I saw it were outrageous, were off by a mile (I could see one of the lights between Gage's leg and Hero's face). If anything, Azrael from the Lost Boys should have a complaint against the H8 Club; he got MUCH worse treatment in the LB's/H8 Club match during the Wildside invasion. Once you've seen that match, the Hero argument is obsolete.

What is Nick Gage's character, anyway? He's tough and loves CZW. I don't know how he can do it! Nick Gage is a stinker.

Are you saying he was afraid of the H8 Club, and didn't want get offense on them because they might get mad? Why, I never!

No one really knows for sure what happened between Hero and H8 Club/CZW. While, as SC mentioned, Gage's bootscrapes were fairly light, Hatred's chair shots were stiff as fuck. While Hero may have been dogging it, the H8 Club never gave him a chance to go on offense either. It was odd watching Gage sell for the smaller B-Boy, but giving Hero nothing.

In the commentary Hero made after COD4, he said that he enjoyed his time in CZW and said he was treated well, but wasn't happy with the match and gave the impression he wasn't happy with Gage and Hatred.

Again, unless Hero or Gage or Hatred or Zandig really tells us what happened, we'll never know.
