What was the best season ending cliffhanger?

"The Erlymeyer Flask" from the End of Season 1 was FANTASTIC. It disbanded the X-Files, killed off Deep Throat, finally got us closer to the heart of the alien conspiricy, and it totally shook up the X-Files as THE Sci Fi show of the 90's.

 

I rate that one better then any of the Buffy ones. (Which were good.)

I think they reached the end of the universe and turned into pure energy or something like that.

I wound up watching this show, which I usually can't stand, with my mom, and somehow got involved in it.

 

Getting Lucy pregnant would be awful, seeing as they have 384 characters on that show as is.

 

Then they left a cliffhanger where it looks like a significant portion of the family got invovled in a major car accident (I pray for casaulties to thin the Camden herd).

 

BTW, I should be so lucky to get a hooker that looks like Tara Lipinski.

Next to Picard becoming Locutus, I'd say the next best season cliffhanger would be the episode of Deep Space Nine where the Dominion Invasion started.

 

The Federation blew up half of DS9 on their way out which undid all the work they'd done the previous 3-4 seasons, they mined the wormhole, and the last image on the screen was the Defiant joining the biggest armada of Federation starships since the Borg battle from Best of Both Worlds part 1.

Here are some big ones I remember:

 

Space: Above and Beyond: season finale that turned out to be the series finale. The main character's girlfriend is rescued and most of the cast dies.

 

South Park, "red sleigh down": This wasn't shocking, but when Kenny appeared at the end and undid a year of plotlines I laughed my ass off.

 

Farscape: Yes, it indeed sucks that Scifi took the season finale and made it the series finale. However, they've had a lot of good season finales. Season three in paticular, with Chrichton in in the middle of space with no fuel. "You've got to be kidding me!"
