Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted May 21, 2003 My parents have watched this show since the beginning, when David "CSI:Miami" Caruso was the main star. Besides catching a few eps here and there, I never really watched it until Zack Morris himself, Mark-Paul Gosselaar joined the cast (sad reason for getting into the show, I know). The show is great, honestly one of the best shows I've ever seen on TV. Last night was the season finale, and one of the best episodes of the show I've ever seen. I won't talk about it yet, as I'm not sure who even likes the show, nevermind who's seen the finale. So, any Blue fans besides me? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted May 21, 2003 I'm surprised people still watch this. The first season was extremely good for 1993 network TV. Whenever David Caruso was onscreen, there was always a certain intensity that he gave to the show, and it made for some great TV. There was this great mentor/pupil relationship with him & Andy, that was sort of reversing because of Andy's alcoholism. He just had good chemistry with the other characters...with his ex-wife, with Licalsi, with Nick Turturro's character. And there were all these neat little subplots (Wendy Malick as an abused wife, David Schwimmer as "4B"). When Caruso left, so did a lot of the show's intensity. Plus, his supporting cast (Sherry Stringfield & Amy Brenneman), who I liked a lot, all left once there was no longer a reason for them to stick around. Bobby Simone was a good character, but he was no John Kelly. I stopped watching at the end of season 2 because I just wasn't into it anymore. I started again when Ricky Schroeder joined the cast...it was watchable for a while, but once again, I got bored with the show at the end of that season. There are only so many interesting homicide cases, and I didn't really care about any of these characters. Plus, all the "torture Andy" plots were wearing thin. I tried giving the show another chance when MPG joined up, but found that it still didn't hold my interest. I do want to pick up that Season 1 DVD though. Good times. And I don't think the Lt. will leave the show, but I'm going to find it interesting next season how they handle Fraker snapping like he did.
