Guest PacMan Report post Posted May 21, 2003 Hey all. If you were planning to create a Best of WCW Nitro/Thunder compilation video, what 20 matches and segments would you put on the video? Just curious. Also, if anyone has one of these compilations already done, would you be able to send a link to a matchlisting of the tape? Thanks alot. ~ Pac
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 21, 2003 Have all Blitzkreig matches, DDP matches with the 20 or so different Diamond Cutter finishes, Booker T as TV Champ, Dean Malenko matches, Pillman vs Lyger.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 22, 2003 Here are ten essential moments, all from Nitro. (Thunder didn't really produce anything memorable, besides the cruiserweights being spotlighted around late 1998.) 1. Brian Pillman v. Jushin Lyger 2. Benoit v. Booker, Match Seven. 3. Hogan v. Goldberg, World Title. 4. Nash v. Hogan, World Title. (well, really, it's memorable for all of the wrong reasons) 5. Bret v. Benoit, the "Owen Memorial Match". 6. Ric Flair v. Sting, Final Nitro. 7. nWo/Horsemen parody. 8. Ric Flair's return promo, September 14, 1998. 9. Ric Flair's final promo, Final Nitro. 10. The "rebirth" of the WCW in April of 2000, with the first Bischoff/Russo promo with all of the young wrestlers in the ring, and all of the established stars (Luger, Sting, Savage, Sid, Hogan) watching on from the back.) Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 22, 2003 10. The "rebirth" of the WCW in April of 2000, with the first Bischoff/Russo promo with all of the young wrestlers in the ring, and all of the established stars (Luger, Sting, Savage, Sid, Hogan) watching on from the back.) I have that show on tape, the New Blood era. Bischoff started to make shoot comments to Sid about the knife among other things. Also add the Nitro after the Bash at the Beach "Hogan Memorial Championship" with Booker T talking about finally becoming the Champ after years of being stuck in the midcard. Guest Stunt Granny Report post Posted May 28, 2003 They should include the nWo beatdown where Nash threw Rey head first into the side of a traylor. That was an awesome segment.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Pillaman/Liger was short and unspectacular
Guest Old Brown Heineken Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Has for the more thrilling matches I would go with : THUNDER January 8, 1999 - First Thunder: Daytona Beach Thunder Announcers: Lee Marshell, Tony Shiavone and Mike Tenay. Some of the matches that took place at the first Thunder were, Ric Flair Vs. Chris Jericho, Goldberg Vs. Jobber. The Stiener Brothers Vs. Konnan and Buff Bagwell, Lex Luger Vs. Scott Norton, Ultimo Dragon Vs. Juventud, a Bret Hart Interview with Ric Flair interrupting it, Ray Traylor Vs. Scott Hall and the main event Diamond Dallas Page Vs. Kevin Nash. Bret Hart Vs. Chris Benoit - December 23, 1999 Benoit and Hart have a hard fought match up going on, Benoit is setting up to win but Jarrett comes in and clocks him with the Silver Guitar. Bill Goldberg then comes running out and spears Jarrett. Hart takes off and Goldberg in pursuit. A limousine screech out of the parking lot, Goldberg then notices a second limousine. He begins to pound on the hood and then breaks the glass windows with his forearm. Randy Savage Vs. Sting - Thunder February 1998 The match went back and forth, Sting put on the Scorpion Deathlock Submission, Savage was on the verge of tapping out, but Scott Hall came in and broke up the submission maneuver. Hogan then came down into the ring, Savage and Sting began to double team Hogan but before they could get to Hall, the entire nWo came down. Sting and Savage fought off the nWo troops, and then escaped from their clutches through the ringside harness that Sting used. They shot back up into the rafters before the nWo could attack again. Jeff Jarrett Vs. Scott Hall - Oklahoma City, OK - February 23, 2000 Hall had Jarrett beat, he set up for the Outsider’s Edge, but Jarrett’s boot hit the referee and knocked him out. Hall executed the Edge but there was no referee to count the pin fall. Jarrett regained his composure and hit the stroke, the nWo referee came down but only counted two. Mickey Jay the WCW referee began to argue with the nWo referee. Hall had Jarrett pinned once more, but the nWo referee pulled the WCW referee out of the ring. The nWo referee climbed back in but was hit with a Outsider’s Edge. Sid then came down and confronted Jeff Jarrett.
