Guest Blue Bacchus Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I just sat through "No Holds Barred" instead of watching Smackdown. I figured since it was on Action, it may be some time before it'll repeat, so I watched it. You know the scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where the Japanese guy screams and his face melts... That's what it felt like to me. Has anyone else dared to watch this craptacular classic?

Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 23, 2003 (edited) Zeus had one line in the whole movie "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and who can forget the unibrow of Zeus? You know they could remake this movie with Goldberg or Steiner or Batista or Nathan Jones or A-Train as Zeus and it could make millions. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted May 23, 2003 When I was in 8th grade, I was supposed to fight this guy that was capping on me in class after the first showing of No Holds Barred at our local theatre. I saw the movie and waited out back with my friends and others who were going to watch the fight. He didn't show. Although I was looked upon as the winner in that situation, I can't help but look on the situation now and think I am the loser for shelling out the money for that shit and he saved his money and got out of a fight. Go figure.

Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I own 2 copies of it, plus many other Hogan DVDs, I was a Kool Aid loving 4 year old Hulkamaniac in 1985, so my love affair with the Hulkster has been brooding for a long time...

Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Man, did that film suck. And this coming from a die-hard Hulkamaniac back in the day! Even after seeing the film 653 times (I was a Hulkamaniac back then and begged my mom to rent it for me.) I never understood how, in the end, Hogan isn't arrested for murdering two people? Does anyone else relize that HE KILLED ZEUS?!! And when that bald guy gets electrocuted after destroying the control room, which in itself is funny, seeing as how all he cared about was ratings, and by doing this, it destroyed any chance of people watching the match, why does the crowd cheer for Hogan immediatley following the bald guy's death? 2 men are dead, but who cares? HOGAN WINS!!! YEAAA!!!! Still, I take that film over Surbaban Commando.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Zues tried breaking Rip's neck, it was justifiable homicide, and the TV Guru guy backed himself into the electronic board that zapped him, Rip was just moving toward him...
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Still, the crowd shouldn't have acted so damn happy a second after the bald guy died. Someone should have gone to check on him or call 911 or something to that effect. But like I said, I take that film over *Surburban Commando* anyday. Btw, I'm actually suprised that that film and Surburban Commando are still shown on cable t.v. I thought Vince or Hogan would be embarrased and pay for it to never be shown again. Doesn't Vince or Hulk own the films?

Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Zues tried breaking Rip's neck, it was justifiable homicide, and the TV Guru guy backed himself into the electronic board that zapped him, Rip was just moving toward him... It's funny Hulk Hogan had to resort to killing people, though. He should've done that to O'Haire tonight. He used the neck wrench, SO JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDES ALL AROUND, PARTNERS! The thing about Kurt Fuller dying in the accident is strange because everyone's silent, like they're worried about him. Then for out of nowhere, a huge cheer. From what I remember, those people in the crowd shouldn't be aware that he's a bad guy, which would mean they like their realism in the form of a touch of death. And then Hulkster leads us out with a goofy "thanks to me, my enemies are all dead" thumbs-up. And one more thing ... that guy Zeus beat into a wheelchair was great. Those faces ... man.
