Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Swept by the Bluejays at New York. 7 straight home losses. The bullpen besides Rivera has been horrible. The Starting pitching looks like its starting to show its age. I still think the Yankees will make the postseason, but are the legit contenders?
Guest Choken One Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Just your normal slump...All teams for the most part go through that...
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Oh I think they'll get their act together. I'm just curious if they have what it takes to win the World Series.
Bored Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 I hope Steinbrenner loses it and fires Torre and just watch the Yankees crumble. Probably won't happen but it sure would be fun to watch.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Its ashame the Orioles don't play them until like July. That sucks.

Actually when if you went back from 11 games after the sweep (count back from the Jays sweep) the Yankees are 1-10 in that stretch.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 *cackles with glee* Karma's finally coming back around. I don't think the Yankees have the pitching or the character guys to turn it around.
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I guess $160 million just doesn't go as far as it used to. Woth both the Jays and Expos are on fire right now, I'm having a good time as a baseball fan.
Guest Kingpk Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 When you pay for elderly players like Contreras (32 MY ASS) it bites you in the ass.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Should make tomorrow's game interesting. ESPN is banking on Clemens getting 300 tomorrow...I hope he doesn't.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Why do you hope Clemens doesn't hit 300 ? After all he's done, he deserves it. Normal slump, we all go through it. They'll get it together, though. We're still a little banged up ( Jeter just returned, Williams injured ) Oh, I must agree with Kingpk. That Jose Contreras deal is working out, and although Matsui has done some, i'm not sold YET.

Whatever Clemens is a jackass and I'm so proud of my A's over the years who have always given Clemens a tough time especially when Dave Stewart was pitching. Stewart > Clemens
Guest Anglesault Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 ::Closes eyes to reality:: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS WRONG! EVERYONG IS A-OK!
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Why do you hope Clemens doesn't hit 300 ? After all he's done, he deserves it. Let's see: I hate the Yankees. I hate Roger Clemens. I hate everything Roger Clemens stands for.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I hate everything Roger Clemens stands for. Such as?
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Well, wanting to play for the Yankees is one thing.
Guest Kingpk Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I don't hate Clemens. He was right on one thing: Dan Duquette was a horrid GM who let go both Clemens and Vaughn (when he was still good) for nothing.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Well, wanting to play for the Yankees is one thing. Damn him for wanting to play for a successful team. Damn him! DAMN HIS SOUL TO HELL!
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I don't hate everything about Clemens. Signing with the Jays counteracts some of his demanding a trade to New York, but I just don't like the way he carries himself.
Bored Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I hate everything Roger Clemens stands for. Such as? He's a fat fuck from Texas...he's the Bradshaw of Major League Baseball BAH GAWD~!

Signing with the Jays counteracts some of his demanding a trade to New York, but I just don't like the way he carries himself. I'd say for someone of his talent and stature, he carries himself well. Now, someone like Pedro on the other hand...

Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 You mean he carries himself well by whining that the Jays weren't good enough and demanding to be traded? Or how about throwing at Piazza's head and then ducking out of starting a game at Shea because he knew he'd be a target. He also only started one game at Fenway in 2 years as a Jay and didn't start a game at SkyDome as a Yankee until a year or so after he left. He's a whiny pussy, plain and simple.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 You mean he carries himself well by whining that the Jays weren't good enough and demanding to be traded? Do what you gotta do, sez I. Or how about throwing at Piazza's head That's my main problem with him. If that never happened, I never would have had to listen to Piazza WHINE AND WHINE AND WHINE AND WHINE about it. then ducking out of starting a game at Shea because he knew he'd be a target. He also only started one game at Fenway in 2 years as a Jay and didn't start a game at SkyDome as a Yankee until a year or so after he left. Doesn't bother me like it does you, I guess.
Guest alkeiper Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 It cracks me up that last month sportswriters were wondering whether the Yankees were the best team ever.
Guest EsotericMaster Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 When you signs players for all that money, it usually doesn't work out in the long run. Examples would be Orioles 94-98, Boston every year, Yanks early 90's, Met's late 80's etc. That is all from recent memory. I hope Yankee fans enjoy losing; they have bums like Giambi for at least 7 years.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I'm laughing my ass off with every passing SportsCenter, watching the Yankees lose every day. It's good fun to watch the Anti-Christ get pimp-slapped on a daily basis. I could get used to this...
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Clemens got pulled when he was down 7-3.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 What I find really funny is if the Yankees lose this game, they have only half as many wins as they would loses for this month. That's pretty bad really. Oh well, at least the Jays will be able to probably steal second place from them.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 And maybe the Orioles! Burn baby burn! All the way down to 4th place!
