Do you own any DVDs you have never seen...

Recommended Posts

Guest Downhome

Out of all of the DVDs I own so far (which isn't many at all, seeing how I only started buying DVDs at the begining of this year, you can check out what I have here) do you own any at all that you have never seen? I'm not talking movies that you bought that you had watched before, and simply haven't sat down to watch them yet since you own them. I mean movies you haven't seen period, and you bought them anyway and still haven't checked them out yet.

Out of mine, I haven't ever watched Requiem for a Dream, Pi, The Royal Tenenbaums, Jackie Brown, True Romance, Moulin Rouge, or Ice Age. I was just wondering if this is something that others do, or if I'm alone in this.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

There's many DVDs I own which I haven't watched yet. I don't really know why, I guess I just don't take enough time for movies each week. Well now that I have Tivo I now record alot more movies off tv.

Speaking of Tivo, how much is that and how does it work? Can you use it with whatever cable/satilite provider you have, etc...?

In my WWII package I hadn't seen Patton (but I just watched it), The Longest Day or Tora! Tora! Tora!

I bought Pearl Harbor before watching, Insomnia, Armageddon, Hannibal, Amadeus

There are plenty, I either haven't had the time to watch them or have just forgotten to.

I seem to remember you talking about how great a movie Pi is, but I guess if you never watched it that can't be.

I have a few dvds I've never watched. Just time constraints and all.

Nope never seen Pi. I have seen a sort of "Making of Pi" before, perhaps that is what I was talking about.

Tivo is kinda pricey. You can get the Tivo unit and lifetime subscribtion to the Tivo service for around $600.

The unit itself is around $300, but you have to pay a subscribtion fee for the Tiva Service. It's $12.95 a month or you can pay a onetime lifetime service price of around $300.

You can use Tivo with any Cable/Satellite provider. If you have DirecTV style Satellite and you're in a area that doesn't get local channels, you can hook your cable(however you watch local) and satellite up.

Thanks for that. Once I get a full time job again, I'm going to check this out.

Men of Honor

Bought it when it came out, still haven't watched it.

Also K-Pax was on the list, but I traded it in, so it kind of cancels out.

I own but have never watched, Slums of Beverly Hills, You Drive me Crazy and Bring it on, which was the first DVD I ever got. The only reason I got "Slums" and "Crazy" was because they were $10 in total. I don't know why I haven't watched "Bring it on."

I have a ton I have bought without ever seeing and some I saw on rental or in the theaters and bought but never watched my own copy. I have a ton of those. I tend to pick up several DVDs though and often end up getting a few I haven't seen. I can't remember the last time I bought a VHS and I still have some I haven't seen, cause I used to do the same thing.

I have a lot of DVDs that I haven't watched but I've seen the movies before mostly. I don't understand the concept of spending 20 dollars on something I'm not sure I already like. I just can't grasp that. If I was rich I guess I'd do it but I'm not. I only buy something if I REALLY like it and I'm willing to watch it more than once. I bought Road to Perdition without seeing it first but I was sure I would end up liking that. The only one I have that I haven't watched and never seen before is The Bridge on the River Kwai.

i picked up 'go' at walmart for something like 6 bucks, cause it was just too cheap to pass up. that one sat on my shelf for a week & a half before i opened it (though i had seen it before).

also, i've yet to watch my copy of 'ran' all the way through. seen it a couple times before, of course, & it's one of my favorite movies, but i just haven't felt like watching it.

My parents own some DVDs of movies that I've never seen in their entirety...and I'd like to keep it that way.

I don't go out and buy movies without having at least seen part of them before. That's what rentals are for, my friend.
