Chazz 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2003 I think one problem In The many facing The WWE Is having some matches go longer then they deserve, especially considering who Is working them, as well as what Is on The line. For example, I thought The Eddie Gurrero/Tajiri vs Team Angle WWE Tag Team Title Match on Smackdown! deserved The time It was given. On the flip side, however, was The Jackie/Ivory vs Jazz/Molly match on Heat tonight that took up nearly 20 minutes. I didn't think The match was horrible, but It didn't need to go that long considering there was nothing at steak. Hell, The match was given more time then Matt Hardy vs Rey Misterio for The WWE Crusierweight Title at WrestleMania this past year! Anybody else agree/disagree with my assesment? Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 26, 2003 The problem isn't so much the match length, isn't the fact that the fill the REST of the time on the shows with UTTER BULLSHIT! Recaps ahoy. Whooptie do. Hoss matches should be kept short. Matches with good workers should be longer. PPV matches should, as a rule, be longer than the TV matches, especially title matches. However, giving away long free TV matches with good workers can be bad since you run out of combos quick and you're ruined the attraction of PPV. Some matches like that every now and then is good, though. However, 7 minutes or so for a pair of good workers on a regular TV show is fine by me.
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted May 26, 2003 The problem with the women's match was that it should have went 40 minutes, with 20 minutes tornado.
Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted May 26, 2003 When matches are full of lugs like 3MW, Big Show, Nathan Jones etc. the shorter the better.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 26, 2003 When matches are full of lugs like 3MW, Big Show, Nathan Jones etc. the shorter the better. The ideal length of time for those matches would be as long as it takes for me to use the toilet.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Definate Jobber matches should be short, especially when the name talent can't do shit in the ring, the Big Show 3MW Steiner etc who probably needs a full month of Squashing Jobbers just to build up to some threat level to take on another name talent... daww remember the Prime time wrestling days. anyway, better wrestlers should be given the longer time... We I guess can accept main eventers getting their sweet long time in the ring, but as long as they do something that doesn't involve a sledgehammer for a finish. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Goldberg vs. Christian or Goldberg vs. Lance Storm -- Which was least painful to watch? Goldberg needs short matches, to cover his tiny moveset.

I would have more confidence in the Brand-only ppv's if they gave matches longer time, even if that was the only thing they do to improve the product.
